Edward Pritchett, who is a Senior Partner at Symmetry Financial Group and founder of The Pritchett Agency, joins me on this week’s podcast where we discuss many valuable topics for new and experienced insurance agents. We go through his childhood, attending Yale University and graduating with a degree in chemical engineering, jumping into the insurance industry as a way to make ends meet, to ultimately becoming a senior partner at Symmetry Financial Group and becoming one of the greatest life insurance agents I’ve ever had the pleasure of interviewing.
We talk about how to sell life insurance from home, the impact that life insurance can make on the families you help, how to increase your income, and so much more. This is a podcast you definitely do not want to miss!

@@bigwheelwhippa4977 You need money to sell insurance as a cushion bc most pay is 100%commission so if your or out there really making lots of sales, you don’t get paid. On the other hand if you’re great at selling you can make a massive amount of money.

Thank you so much for talking about representation of marginalized folx in the industry! ❤️🤘 I am Transgender, and my life insurance license was just approved in my resident state of MN!! 🎉 But it's been a tough road getting here as I've tried to find other Transgender insurance agents online to learn about their stories, and have only found ONE openly Transgender agent! 😖 It's hard to stay motivated and keep going when I don't feel like I belong or am seen, but then I realized I can be a trailblazer and potentially be someone others can look to someday once I'm done with training and actually working with clients & families!! 😁 Thank you to you both for the work you're doing in educating and helping folx feel like they can be just as successful as those who have been in the industry for years!
@lordabstract82
@lordabstract82 Жыл бұрын
I’m not a transgender, nor do I have any skin in the game as far as that goes, but I did notice a common denominator your story has with mine. You mentioned considering yourself a “marginalized folk”, well I feel the same about myself in regards to working with others and I am a combat veteran. You’d be surprised how badly I’ve been stigmatized, even on the independent side. My strongest advice to you, which is what is helping me, is don’t associate yourself with a group of people who you have familiar bonds of victimization with. Create your niche and your own brand of business….Jordan’s brand of business. It’s going to be tough, but in the end, you won’t owe anyone a damn thing when it comes to your success. This is the most important thing to always remember during your worst days on this journey. I wish you nothing but the best of luck. My aggregator is Horizon Agency Systems and they serve my independent agency well 💯 I believe they can take care of you too! Once you are in, you lock in those carrier appointments and then it’s off to the races to focus on whatever insurance products you want to sell! That easy. 💯
@mikechase6738

What does being transgendered have to do with selling life insurance? And why do you want to find other transgender agents? Your making excuses, which will keep you broke and complaining! Everyone has an excuse of some kind, get over it and go get with whoever can help you sell insurance!

Hey Cody, serious question, I just got licensed, took a captive appointment w State Farm, and had a very hard time learning the game (mixed feedback and guidance, couldn’t just learn one solid way) I’m in a position to pick up a new appointment with another agency, but also would like to know if you think it’s worth while to spend some time captive before making that move? My fear is chargebacks and getting good momentum going and getting cut off at the kneecaps for missing things from having little to no experience. What would you advise I do? I have an idea, but would love to hear your feedback.
@valerief1231
@valerief1231 2 жыл бұрын
I’m genuinely surprised no one responded to your question. Don’t live in fear of charge backs. Work on sharpening your close. If the leads are weak or questionable that’s a good indicator of possible charge backs. Manipulative closing and pressure closing will always have a high buyers remorse and regret result. Find products that really suit the family you are helping, make sure your intention is to actually HELP the family. Present those options which allows them to select the options and you as well as your clients will be able to sleep at night.
