I've been watching a lot of Cody's videos lately. This is one is my favorites. I really, really like Marlin and his transparent, authentic story. But I also really like that Cody gave him the floor, and happily did so. Cody shows one important factor that WILL make you successful as salesperson - active listening. This is especially important when working with seniors. They want you to know the value of their lives, how they made a difference. That's a gift. And at least for me, I always walk away with valuable nuggets of wisdom.

I'm not even in the insurance business but I couldn't stop watching. I do watch a lot of motivational, inspirational content, e.g., "You Are Not My Guru," about Tony Robbins, Grant Cardone, etc. But this was one of the BEST and most inspirational videos I have ever seen. I think it moved me so much because of the way you two told the stories in such a human way and boiled everything about succeeding in business and in life to the level of Art Williams, "Just Do it." I was with AL Willams right after high school, and heard him give the "Let's Do It," talk live at a conference, along with a few other phenomenally inspiring talks he gave. What a gift he had, and I think you have it too Marlin. Just in your own style and maybe not polished up yet...but I can see you being like Les Brown and teaching and inspiring millions. Thank you both for producing this!

Just stumbled on this one. I hope you HAVE made people watch this Cody! It’s so freaking good. I related a lot to the procrastination portion. I’m a relentless procrastinator. I love what he said about running to do hard things until you like it. I already get up at 3:00AM to get a big jump on the day, but I’ve avoided cold showers and working out consistently. After watching this last night (instead of studying for my license exam lol), I decided to start training my mind and body to do hard things. I took my first cold shower until I liked it, right after working out past “comfortable”. I didn’t even realize it was New Year’s Day until I got out of the shower, and smiled real big because I KNOW this year is going to be different. I’m just going to do it. Thanks so much for this interview.

Cody this one is for you. When I first found your videos I didn't like you very much (please keep reading). It's a leftover from my upbringing and how I was raised to perceive people. I've been in the mortgage industry for 20 years of my life and I was just laid off for the 3rd time in March over the past 14 years. I applied for about 300 jobs in the last 60 days and literally got 3 interviews, one being with Symmetry Financial Group. I've basically never sold anything in my life and being an INFJ (Myers-Briggs) and being raised by an overly agreeable and very passive family. I watched one of two videos of yours while I was still making a decision and I clearly read you wrong. I've learned a lot about myself and my employment history and decided to turn to 2 underpaying mortgage jobs down and I'm totally on board with SFG now. I'm now fully licensed, got my rider numbers and I'm days away from the phones. I sold P&C insurance (inbound) and did mortgage collections (inbound), but basically haven't been on a phone in 12 years. I know I can do this... but of course... I'm scared and I know I'm going to fail before I'm going to succeed. In watching more of your videos this past week, and being in a different place then I was 5-6 weeks ago I see you in a different light now. I watched like 10 videos of yours yesterday and I'll just say this... I appreciate your heart, what you're doing here on this channel and I'm a fan now. I'm plugged in. I'm willing to be a student. I love the message. Thank you!!!

Cody and Marlin, you guys are amazing. I feel that the outcome I get after watching this should be sent to you in a form of priceless gratitude. Such content is worth investing onto and yet you're offering it to us for free. After watching your videos Cody, I run out of words and end up commenting not but I apply more hence results are definitely insane. God bless you and nurture your ability to give without expecting anything in return. I've watched many inspirational videos but your uniqueness is that you're real time and natural. You're in our shoes and we are gradually climbing the ladder of success through steps you're giving to us. Thank you🙏🏻

Thank you so much for this, I just got hired with Symmetry Financial Group, and this wouldn't be the first time taking the licensed exam. I gave up on my first try after I failed and walked away from it from a previous company. My mind was desperately trying to get back into it, but my heart wasn't in it. I had the mentality but environment was a heavily influential factor which in the end I blame myself for not trying harder. Love this story.
