It's Dec 7, 2023, brand new to Medicare and just approved to sell by the carrier on Dec. 5, 2023. Talk about pressure!! I passed AHIP 3 weeks ago. I feel like I'm on an island because I am having to push to get any help or the resources I need from carrier and the FMO.

If we door knock T-65 leads to discuss med supps and they ask about MAPD would we then hand them a SOA? And then proceed at the later appointment?

Hi Kevin, yes you are correct. You'd have to use the SOA and schedule an appointment for at least 48 hrs later.

CMS governs all Medicare products including Medicare Supplements. The marketing guidelines that are reviewed annually are reserved for Medicare Advantage products as well as the PDP portion of the enrollment.

Am I correct in assuming that Med Sup plans take much less time to explain and write than Advantage plans?

Because of their cookie-cutter platform, it could be said that Medicare Supplement products are easier to explain as a commodity. In other words they are identical in nature and distinguished by price. Medicare Advantage is not based on a cookie-cutter platform and can be distinguished by their plan benefits as well as their ancillary offerings

What if the customer doesn’t want the call to be recorded? Do you have to end the call, or can you continue without recording?

Technically you'd have to end the call. You can explain that it's a government requirement and not optional, but ultimately if they refuse you'd have to end the call to remain compliant.

SOAs are still applicable in all cases with the exception of the beneficiary being within 4 days of the end of their election period.
