Ah im one of those people minus the profession pazaz though. Its just that i have interest in connecting with random people with randomly different professional domain. I barely have 30 connections...i have rejected so many i could had hundreds more. People treat it like Facebook or something. But that said, i should probably work on my networking skills...asocialism wont help me. I love that #shorts you did regarding conformation and curiosity. I just wish i knew where to start remedying myself.

I've been sending out connection requests with personalized messages left and right for a while now. Most of them are HRs of companies that I would like to work for or people who work in my area of interest. I have 100+ requests that are ignored/not accepted. Some of these new connections understand that I'm looking for opportunities and try to help me by sharing openings. That being said, I've no idea on how to ask them for a referral or how to approach these new connections for them to consider my profile for a role with their company. I'm having such difficulty getting interviews even after tailoring my resume for each job application. Any help would be much appreciated.

i hear you. Watch the 5 mistakes to avoid on LinkedIn, a livestream I did, it's in the LinkedIn Tips playlist. Make sure your connection request is highly personalised, and do NOT ask for something as you connect, or in the connection request.

I wouldn't put Hi XYZ, because it shows up as first line and we may not see full note, just my experience

I understand, it’s a personal preference I think. On desktop it appears as a full sentence, on mobile just the first few words. Those are curious will click on ‘see more’ 😊

Does LinkedIn still have this feature? Because I clicked "Connect" and it just send them this and doesn't give me the personalised message option. However, sometimes, it does!😯 For instance, today I send three connection requests. In one, it was sent directly and in two, gave me the option to personalise. What's happening??!!
