Hi Thank you for watching! If you have any questions at all, literally anything at all let me know!!!!! PS I hope you like the new channel member thank you screen PPS Being sponsored by live2d is like if the god of art paid you to do art (hyperbolic), like damn I've been doing this for free for years but now I'm getting paid for it? surreal, anyway I hope you're staying well.

this is so interesting to see! had to comment because i want to learn how to rig my vtuber model one day, and i rarely see people who paint the layers from one main one (instead of separating the lineart before coloring)... thank you so much for this!

They're both good methods but actually for me, it gets difficult to colour when they're all separate from the start TT I do a bit of both but this is what I'm used to because back in my day 👵 this was the main method for live2d, thank you for watching!!!!!!!

ngl i've been looking for a tutorial that featured a model that is in a unique pose like this for so long, this makes me super happy! i hope you are able to make more videos for this series and get sponsored while doing it too.

Thank you for watching!!!!! I'm glad it helped you! I'm also happy to see posed models since it's fun to rig I have this one where she's sitting down kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmrVkqx9rpyrfcUsi=kXQnKQNv1M3LoOPg I've done some more, maybe it would be fun to make a video showcasing all of them :D

OMG, recently i wanted to make my own vtuber, whether it be live2d or just a pngvtuber idk yet but just yesterday i made the decison to start this process, this video came out JUST in time, thank you everything you taught me is gonna make it 1000x easier!!!! ive also thought of making game sprites too so my husband and i could maybe start making games

Best of luck to you and your husband!!!! Happy it helped!!! For me I have a live2d model and a png tuber (for when my computer gets cooked) so why not have both!

you approach cutting in an interesting way! so you complete the illustration, cut, and fill in the missing parts in that order? for the most part i've been drawing each moving piece i want to rig, as i go. like in the lineart stage i'll already have different layers for different parts like hair, arms, face, neck, etc. i wonder if my way is convoluted and actually takes longer?!
@athenyach2 ай бұрын
Your way is just a different method!! Me personally, I have a finished drawing/finish the drawing first because colouring is difficult when they're all separate parts so I often lose motivation. This way, I can focus on the look of the illustration before thinking about the parts. I generally do a mix of both methods depending on the part tho. For example, hair is easy for me to separate so I just complete the hair rendering first and separate later. But for the eyes, I draw each part separately (sclera, iris, eyelash, etc.) and render it separately because separating it afterwards is so hard... Thank you for watching!!!

thank you i needed thiss may i ask how long you took to do the separation ?
@athenyach2 ай бұрын
Almosttt two hours but! I was separating a bunch of things twice and doing it slowly for video reasons!!! Usually a sprite like this would take me about an hour to fully separate if I'm focused on my table with no distractions and some music

i see ! thankss

Yooo what engine will you be using? I've been meaning to try it oht with both the Unity SDK and for web dev (tho i was discouraged from usign the official SDK for that)
@athenyach2 ай бұрын
Hiii!!! I'm gonna be using ren'py (so cubism for native) but i can create a separate video for how to set it up in web if you'd like!!!!!
@manassehh2 ай бұрын
@athenyach ohhh cute I've had renpy bookmarked for so long haha Definitely don't worry about it for my sake if you weren't planning on it, although it'll definitely be good to have on your channel since there aren't many videos on it!!

will there be a specific one for Visual novel maker or godot ?
@athenyach2 ай бұрын
I think visual novel maker only supports cubism 2 and godot doesn't have any /official/ live2d compatibility (there are plugins) but I'll try and see if I can make one!!!
