I'm very happy that a channel such as yourselves exists mainly because getting someone else to service or rebuild your engine can cost an absolute bomb and watching your videos shows that it isnt that difficult either, thank you!

Thanks Roger, yeah we are all sweet. just chilling at home with the family with an extended easter break. The storm will pass and we will be racing when its safe again. Stay safe. D

So is the leopard only fuel lubed? I can see oil in the crankcase through the intake hole where the reeds mount. I know its. Old engine, but there is zero info on youtube about them and their maintenance

What would be the alternative gearbox oil brand/type?

What a great channel, new to karting and this channel has been very helpful. Just bought a kart with a freshly built X30. When we started it up some oil came out of the breather but eventually stopped. Could it have been overfilled or it might be another issue?
@PowerRepublic2 жыл бұрын
Welcome aboard! yeah I would say its just a bit of over flow. more is better than not enough thats for sure

if i have a PvL rotor and a seletta stator is it bad to run them together?

Hey Dave, not sure as I haven't tried it. are they the same diameter?

Hi really great video there. How often shall this gearoil be replaced (hours) ? Thanks Martin
@PowerRepublic4 жыл бұрын
Hi Martin, I would do it after every 3 weekends if you were keen. otherwise most guys just leave it until its rebuild time
@dondelchulia31893 жыл бұрын
My builder says every hour of running, but you can get away with a little more than that. I wouldn’t leave it till you rebuild it was the oil gets very bad after 2 hours
@icio15114 жыл бұрын
Hi, so this means that you don’t need to measure the squish in X30 engine since it has only one ignition setting? Thank you.
@PowerRepublic4 жыл бұрын
one ignition setting, but you can still check and adjust the squish.

Do you need an overflow bottle on the breather I can’t find anything in rules
@PowerRepublic Жыл бұрын
Should do, and it’s dead easy. Otherwise use a piece of fuel hose with a fuel filter on it. Or check this out …. kart-store.com.au/products/aluminum-engine-oil-breather-rotax-iame-vortex

Can I fill the gear oil from the breather instead?
@PowerRepublic3 жыл бұрын
not really, it will spill over

Hmm I thought it was 40cc = 40mls required? Per the assembly manual my guy??

Same on my X30 manual, it should be 40ml

What is your preference, updated x30 or rotax evo?
@PowerRepublic4 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, I reckon the Rotax EVO is my preference, especially for Restricted 125 here in Australia. Otherwise the X30 is sweet for TAG racing, but it can be track dependant.
@marioalves76102 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming a leopard motor would not have a gearbox like the x30 since it has no balance weight?
@PowerRepublic2 жыл бұрын
Correct. That’s why they vibrate so much
@marioalves76102 жыл бұрын
@@PowerRepublic ok thanks for clarification I just got a kart for tag res and it has a leopard on it that had top and bottom end done thanks for the vids will be using them allot
@michael8974 жыл бұрын
This question is unrelated to the x30. But could you dive a lot deeper into the rotax evo power valve? I race at Newcastle in Australia and my power valve doesn't until the end of the straight when my competitors power valves open just before half way on the straight. Why could this be happening?
@PowerRepublic4 жыл бұрын
young dragon that isn't your power vavlve. the power valve closes below 7500rpm for increased bottom end power. at 7500 it is open all the way to 14000 rpm. what is happening on the straight, in TAG Res I am guessing you are talking about, is either jetting, battery, gearing or you have an older engine that isn't making as much power as the latest edition of the ROtax EVO. hope that helps. if you like you can make an email inquiry through our website and I will be able to help you some more.
@michael8974 жыл бұрын
@@PowerRepublic I might send you an email so l can send some photos too. So when my rotax evo goes from making it's normal sound on the track to making a higher sound and feels like it's getting an extra boost of speed near the end of the straight. That's not the power valve opening up?
@rcclassiccrawlers43682 жыл бұрын
I was really expecting it to be a little more complicated than that. Nothing wrong with simplicity.
