In our house, my husband goes to his parents on Christmas Eve and celebrates with them and I hang out at home. I usually fix Christmas brunch on Christmas morning and my sister's family comes and we celebrate together. Christmas is a very difficult holiday for us due to past hurts. I choose to quietly pray and be thankful for the Lord. I usually kill myself to provide Thanksgiving dinner to approximately 12-15ppl and this year we were going to go out for dinner, but it is our nephew 's senior year of highschool and because of him possibly going away to college next year and the fact that Dallas Cowboys play Thanksgiving day.....I might be cooking again.😅

I would say look at what the satanist do on Halloween and I would make a decision from there.

​@@kristinasolen4053 Our church replaced Halloween with Hallelujah Day on October 31st. Christian games and music in a "fairground" setting. No demonic costumes. Frankly, it's lots more fun.....It does take planning, set-up and teen/adult volunteers.

Seems most of the women in my life have a hard time breaking from their family. My ex worshipped her father. My youngest sister spent a lot of time at my mom and dad's even after she was married. Her daughter was even worse, effectively living with my parents for 1/4 of her life and imposing on them for another 4th. My current wife and her daughter both gravitate towards my wife's brother. My older sister has done the best job of leaving and cleaving than any woman I know. Ladies. You married your husband. He didn't marry your family.
