How to set the high limit on Acolyte, Advent & Advent X rear derailleurs

I have noticed, that your guide pulley is not on the same plane as the smallest cog. It is pretty obvious, that far side of the pulley points more towards the hub of the wheel by some degrees. Is it on purpose?

Yes, it helps with chain line.

Dont know if this is some weird brand or somthing but the H screw is for the lightest gear and the L screw is for the smallest gear

H = High gear = Hardest gear. It makes sense to me and matches the terminology that cars use.

Nope, you don't need to completely align the pulley to the smallest cog

I don't understand why you wouldn't. Could risk binding the chain. Better safe than sorry

@@n8_vel868 if you completely align the pulley to the smallest cog it will have a delay shifting. Aligning the pulley to the smallest cog is only applicable to a brand new components. I've been a 5 years bike mechanic and that's my experience repairing and tuning bikes.

@@genesvinceguillena7512 imma be honest, my Shimano tourney derailleur has to have the pulley set a little further out since it has a delay shifting on the smallest cog. I didn't actually think this was an issue on other used derailleurs. The whole time I thought it was my hanger was bent but even after an allignment it still has a delay. Funny enough I was wondering about this issue earlier and just figured if I set the pulley out a little ways it fixes the issue.

@@n8_vel868 even to high end Rd's has the same issue, I don't know if it's also an issue to electric shifters. I've only tune up cable actuated Rd's
