Your video saved me from sending back my Echo Dot to Amazon. I was having trouble setting up my echo dot and called the number given on the error msg I kept getting during device setup. The Service rep was useless and kept insisting I let him take over my PC to set up my echo and when I refused he took me thru a bunch of useless steps and blamed the problem on my network settings and hung up on me. I was able to fix the problem using your video. Thank you so much!

This is an explanation of the little paper that came with the box. Last I remember, I know how to read. But - NO instructions here on how the CONNECT the device to the internet or not enough information!!!!!

When connecting highlight Amazon TFN then hit advanced options and try to switch to WPS. This may be the problem.

Headache these dots, I recent tried to set up a relatives, (I have set up my own before) the problem u have is we sorted app but then didn't gave Internet connection, so sorted connection then lost connection on the app!?? One quick question. In Sony X85J, I enabled Alexa using Echo dot. Getting all commands executed (on, off, volume, pause, play etc) EXCEPT change of channels. It takes the command but DO NOT execute it. Any reason? ? ? Is it not enabled in INDIA??~ Have seen few utube video of outside world, there it works.

Main thing is to have your wifi password ready and also make sure the Dot stays in set up mode. Would have been lost without this video

That's the other thing mine did, once I got it in set up mode, it wouldn't stay there. About 30 seconds later the yellow light went out and it said something like, you are no longer in set. Up mode.

I presume since you already had another dot, you didn't have to do a full set up.... do you need to know your home Wifi pass code, etc? or does my phone (which is already set up with home wifi) already allow echo Dot to join in? Also, I do not have IOS devices, so will my I-phone 7plus, or my Windows10 PC, still do a full set up? Can Alexa access my iphone calendar and tell me my appointments? any trick to it? Finally, I have a Google Smartspeaker ("hey google"). Appointments, Calendar, Setting Reminders, & accessing telephone contacts can only be accessed by ONE VOICE. So voice recognition is a problem! Call amazon support. They will ask for the DSN number on the back of Alexa and register it from their end. Worked for me after almost a year of not connecting to the internet.
