Nice video. When the West Nile Virus came into the USA, I was the “chicken lady “ and I revamped the chicken cages and designed a water system for the chickens because we only went out to the sights twice a week. The chicken watered were little cups with a little yellow thing that they pecked at to get the water. That is a great system. I would put 3 capfuls of bleach to the 5 gallon bucket of water and it would last 6 chickens for a week without them running out. I love your videos.

That’s awesome!! I always wondered the ratio of bleach to a 5 gallon bucket of water, and now I know. Thanks! 😀

Jason Crocker sent me over. I am glad you are helping him. You guys are awesome. The first video I watched was on the rabbit watering system. I am very interested in this for maybe doing something like this for my cockatiels. Doing the water sometimes takes us over an hour. I hand wash every water dish and when you have 32 cages to do it is a lot. I don’t know if this is even possible for birds but at least it is making me think a little different, out of the box so to speak. So thank you for being a good friend to Jason and thanks for helping me think out side the box, or in my case, thinking outside the cage... Sandy from Weeki Wachee Florida. Hi guys great video as always . I don't have animals to use this for but I have a suggestion 🤔 instead of using black plastic for the bucket ---> Because it may cause it to heat up. Use an insulation material such as reflectix . Just my 2 cents worth . Its your plan your way . Thanks for sharing 👍 stay safe happy and smiling 😀 !!🇨🇦 Craig

Love this idea would I line the bucket outside or inside? also what about the water warming up in the tubing?
@DJ2CM3 жыл бұрын
@@sammijay1072 Hi I think cover the outside of the bucket and get a space blanket a cut in stripes and cover the tubing as far as you can ( if the tubing runs along wood just staple over them for cover ) I have used these two things to keep heat in and out of my off road Tent trailer and it worked awesome. I hope it will do the same for you 😉 Craig

Could you add a washer on the inside and outside of the flute with a nut on the inside as well so no silicone needed and instant use??
@SawyerRidgeFarm4 жыл бұрын
Possibly, but I’m not exactly sure. We’ve never tried that method before. The silicone really seals it up good to ensure no leaks, so I would always go with that if it were me. But you could give it a try.

Well done! Dang that wind for stepping on your toes. 😁 I remember it was toward the end of fall I think that you took your first system down which was not long after you started YT. Made me a little nostalgic. Time will fly now and you'll be at a year before you know! Congratulations! I like the new editing skills by the way! I think the music you selected is the same as what Kevin and Rachel use though. 😉 One question I have is and I keep forgetting to ask is about their bedding. Do they care to have that or do they seem to prefer open air? I only ask because aren't rabbits traditionally burrowers? Would that like the ability to do so or is it something they do in the wild out of self defense? Just a curiosity thing.
@SawyerRidgeFarm4 жыл бұрын
They like to have the bedding it keeps there baby's warm and safe. Thank you for your support paulla

@ndizeyekanumaalain6314 жыл бұрын
Hello sir. Thx for this video but i have one question. Bunnies can also drink water by using this system (this kind of drinker )
@ShaneZettelmier4 жыл бұрын
At the end where you folded it and put a zip tie him to seal it off instead of buying a TV you can just buy a 90° piece there so you don’t have to worry about the end. If you ever want to expand you just pop that out and throw a T in there. Also using a blue or black bucket would help with the algae growth anytime sun hits water you’re going to have stuff growing in it so if you can keep it dark you’re good but if you build a stand with a box or a cover over it that keeps the sun off the bucket also so it doesn’t get too hot in the summer. Also if you put the lid on the bucket cut out a little hole and put some screen over it that will keep the bugs out
@karenkaren390Ай бұрын
How are you keeping it from freezing in the winter? Is it enough to keep the bucket flowing or does it freeze at the nipple?
@vannfe115 ай бұрын
For how long did a 5gal bucket full last for how many rabbits? Of course estimated because kits will drink more. I need to setup a system and thinking I may need to setup a float and have it run directly to my water. 5 gal probably won't last me long. 😅

Do you make separate systems for the hutches on the other side not connected to the big main hutch?

Right now we’re just using water bottles on that side because we are about to be building more cages like the ones in the long row. But we will eventually do the same on that side too. 🙂

Hi. Great video !! Is the water constantly dripping or is it only on demand by the rabbit? If it's only on demand, how do you know it's working, or clogged? In winter, how to you keep the lines from freezing? Peace to you and yours.
@marywilson96604 жыл бұрын
They don't use that system in the winter they use bowls in the winter. It's on demand. I'm sure that as conscientious as they are they check their lines all the time. They are very Hands-On

We have four rabbits (2 doe/2 buck) and set up this water system last year...works great! yeah, replace nipples some times...question: how much ACV do you put in the 5 gallon bucket? Our does kindled last night and we are graced with 6-7 kits each - we didn't count perfect as it's cool and rainy here...but all are covered in lots of fur and wiggly...We have 5 grow outs that are ready for processing...maybe tomorrow if the weather is better, along with two extra roosters we do not need. Great video!
@SawyerRidgeFarm4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And that’s awesome! Congrats on the kits! And for the ACV, honestly we just kinda eyeball it. We make our own, so it’s not as strong as the store bought stuff. But if I were guessing, it’s probably around 1/4 cup for a 5 gallon bucket. Give or take.
@julieb92154 жыл бұрын
For the hose fitting that goes on the bucket, I wonder if you could just wait until the new threads cool, remove the piece, wrap with plumbers teflon tape & screw it back in & save having to use any silicone?
@SawyerRidgeFarm4 жыл бұрын
Possibly could, we’ve never tried it that way, but it may work.
