How to set up and install Google Nest Thermostat E UK

I couldn't get this to work. First off it's unclear if the heat link works on a 240V system. Does it? I had three wires, neutral, live and call. I wired it up as described - live to common and call to normally open. i terminated the other wire. It shorted my electrics straight away. Nothing i could do would make it work. decided to take it back.

No it doesn’t. The support site and install instructions in the box specifically state that it cannot be used on high voltage systems.

You literally take the cover off of your current one, and stick the wires in the exact labelled place you just took them from Wire A from current stay will go in slot A on Nest Wire B from current in slot B on Nest Wire C to slot C

I have a simmens thermostat and controll panel the thermostat have two wire plus the green and yellow wire that's not need connect the two wires as it shows set it all up and the heat link is green but not turning the boiler on

Why is the heat link and the thermostat seperate? Why can't that be seperate in the US?

You cannot use Google Pixel to setup Nest, any other Android will work. Getting errors td005, td006, td007, td008 4060.

You need to remember most of the installers are plumbers and gas engineers. Due to this it has to be charged at the standard hourly labour charge, plus materials such as new wiring of needed. We cannot discount our charges as this is normally more simple than our usual jobs as our overheads are the same. Only change is material cost, but we still pay out for insurance, transport etc. Fitting one of these is one Less appointment space

How much do you think you should pay someone to make an appointment, visit your home, assess your system, implement the installation, test it, make good any decoration, explain it to you or your grandma who asked for it, stand around whilst you reset your apple password and download the app and get the wrong one and then find the right one then muck about with the QR code, certify the install, check it all works, do all the associated accounts & administration, and insure the whole process with public & professional indemnity insurance - and then field your calls post-install?
