Thanks for the info! I bought an xrs 370c last week and didn't realise you could listen to two channels.

Thanks Fred, glad we helped 😀, I am planning on doing some more videos on it, it's a great unit with a LOT of features if you pair it with the App, that is something I am still working through as there isn't a lot of good info on that either!

I had the oricom in my old vehicle. It’s so simple just press the swap button to communicate on the other channel. Very easy to use. I now have the GME and not as happy with it. I would change at the drop of a hat. The oricom was very easy to use and understand

Thanks mate, fair comment, I've seen a few people say the same thing since this video went live... for me the fact the GME is Australian made carries a lot of weight, and they do update the firmware regularly if you pair it with the phone app (still plan a review of that in the near future)... if there's any functionality you'd like me to look at and review, let me know and I'll add it in

The dxt4200 does have the ability to talk on both channels. You just need to press the swap button and you can swap between your main and secondary channels to communicate. You basically swap the channels around so you are still listening to both, you just communicate on the selected channel.
@10tenadventures2 жыл бұрын
Thanks David, I'm not overly familiar with the Oricom unit, just what I found on google here and there. The main things for me with the GME 370c are the emergency channels (if you pair with the app), and the fact they are Australian made... Aussie made is worth the extra few $, just to keep manufacturing jobs here!

Channel 31 is the input for the ch 1 repeaters. Plus I really don’t think this radio will transmit on police fire ambulance radio services.
@10tenadventures2 жыл бұрын
Hi Graham, you are correct in th at they won't transmit on P/F/A channels, but via app pairing, you can contact emergency services on dedicated public channels... I really need to do a follow up video to explain this
@andreweather9654 ай бұрын
@@10tenadventures I think your confused you can listen to some emergency services through the app in zones then select add listen only channels and the only public emergency channels on uhf are 5 and 35 but that doesn’t mean u will get police on them u might if your lucky

Just thought I’d clear something up I know this is an old vid so u might have since realised but with the communications with emergency services well you can’t communicate with them you can listen in to there comms if there on the old analog system but you can’t talk back to them it will not let u as that’s illegal. And you can’t listen to the flying doctor as they use hf the only way I know of to directly talk to emergency services mainly the flying doctor is the hf mainly the old codan hf but there Under licence so not anyone can own one.
@10tenadventures4 ай бұрын
100% correct, what there are, are localised dedicated channels that the app will allow you to see. These are open public channels monitored by emergency services, allowing you to contact them. Not all regions have it set up, but the app on the phone will let you know (so long as bluetooth connected to radio, no mobile data required).
@andreweather9654 ай бұрын
@@10tenadventures where are these localised dedicated channels in the app as I would like to have a look I’ve never seen them and I’d say I’m pretty familiar with the app by now

@andreweather965 honestly, I've only seen then pop up periodically, and since the last app update, I can't find it at all...
@andreweather9654 ай бұрын
@@10tenadventures yeah because I know it’s got a repeater tower locator and a input and output Chanel list then the zoning list cb Chanel list the map a way point option then the username option. But a general rule that’s existed since the start of the uhf 477mhz is Channels 5 and 35 are emergency Channels and a lot of the times are connected to repeaters so it inputs a transmission on one channel and throws it out on the other channel when in duplex up to 200km away and these channels are monitored by police and other emergency services

He mentions it has to be done via the app , which is possible through an app on my truck coms computer so it may fall under the same communication laws I guess. Apps like that are registered and nowadays radio's are not . If we went back to a small rego fee for CB we'd get two things , more communication oppotunities ( other apps ) and a way to rid the planet of those lunatics with base radio's who ruin ch40 etc in every city and half the towns in Australia . I'd happily go back to registered radio's
@FTX032 жыл бұрын
@@markedward5941 you can not at all communicate on emergency services frequencies. The app will not allow you do so. It is illegal to do it. The emergency channels on the 477mhz CB is channel 5 (duplex) and 35 (Simplex). Do not use either of them for general use either.
@markedward59412 жыл бұрын
@@FTX03 He mentions it can be done via the app , I did not . I said it can be done via the computer in my truck and that can be done legally , it's designed to do exactly that . Uniden 8080s has dual watch channels. This is not new technology, ive had the 8080s since bout 2015 or so. Gme fan girls are brainwashed into thinking these are the bees knees, when in reality they are behind in technology.
