How to set up Sponsored Messages Facebook - ManyChat Tutorial - Ads Manager

Sponsored Messages in Facebook are super important and very powerful in connecting with your subscribers. Now that Facebook has updated the subscription Messaging Broadcast API and enforcing the no-promotions outside of the 24+1 rule, marketers are left wondering, now what?
The answer to your promotional woes is Sponsored Messages. Facebook Sponsored Messages are messages that you pay to send out to everyone who has ever messaged your page. This includes unsubscribers but does not include anyone who may have blocked your page. Sponsored Messages in Facebook are super affordable too, generally costing only 10 cents CPM. You only pay for the messages that are clicked on so that is great!
In this video I am going to show you have to set up Sponsored Messages both inside of ManyChat using the ads beta tool as well as inside of Ads Manager. I personally prefer ads manager as it is less glitchy (ManyChat beta has not been working for some people as of late).
I will also show you two ways you can trigger the message both by a button or by a keyword.

Kelly thank you so much for your video! ..I ran the campaign and it worked great the first two days .my goal to send message to my existing subscribers on Manychat to join my facebook group. The campaign worked perfect for the first two days and after that it drastically declined and it is not reaching anyone..How do i fix this ? where do you think the problem is? ..i hope you can help me

Honestly sponsored broadcasts are still very glitchy and there are so many reasons why it would do this from competition kicking in to Facebook slowing your reach and delivery due to low opens etc.

But I've a real quick question about Facebook policy, does this 24+1 rule applies on sequence messages? Means can we send question messages followed by one promotional message via sequence now? Or sequence messages are not allowed too after 24+1 rule?

the 24+1 does not apply to sequences but you can't use them to promote.

kelly thanks for all the value videos you always give to us. I have a Question please. When you set up a sponsored message inside manychat in the message you could conect to an specific flow, but what about if this flow is conected to a sequence? or you could conect this sponsored message to a sequence? or how we could paid to run a sponsored message to display a sequence. You can connect it to a message that then connects to a sequence. Remember to set the expectations.

Sponsored Messages will be sent to my subscribers and unsubscribed people from my list? I mean, are those Ads Messages not directly sent as a Message just to my subscribers? That's not clear from the beginning. Who is receiving my freaking messages? Thanks for clarification!

If you do not properly set up targeting it can be send to unsubs and subs. That is why you need to use the targeting options.

When you are creating your custom audience in Manychat just segment the list for that tag.

Hello there! How can I send sponsored messages if I'm based in Europe? When I try starting my message campaign I get prompted with this message: Due to Facebook's new privacy rules, you can't send Paid Messages delivered to and from Europe. Please, change Ad Account and try again. Is there any workaround this?

Hi Kelly, trying to set and launch the sponsored message to my ManyChat subscribers as you show in this video, the ad is reviewed and approved by facebook, the status changed to active, but the message itself was not delivered - no-one received it. I set $15 lifetime to run the ad to 493 subscribers of mine. ManyChat support told me everything is OK from their side, so I don't where the problem is. Maybe you can advise, thank you =)

Did you do it inside of ManyChat? If so try setting up and launching in Ads Manager as I show in the video. I have had a similar issue with sponsored ads launched via ManyChat.

i have 80k subscribers on manychat, i have the free version cause im bootstrapping the business, would you pay the monthly fee which is very high at 80k subs, or would you unsubscribe 2 years worth of subscribers and start from scratch with 0 subs and the paid version? (I only have an 8 usd product currently)

I would export all the users who I have email or phone for and put them into a spreadsheet or CRM/ESP. I would then run a sponsored message to re-engage users and get them to opt into email or SMS. I would delete everyone who has not interacted with my bot in the past 3 months unless you are using the SMS or native email then keep those people. I regularly delete users which is why I have such a low sub number (I hover around 2-3k)
