No matter what I do this will not set up. I have 2 of them, and neither works. Cannot get an orange flashing light -- just red. Tempted to color over the red LED with an orange marker just to feel better. Very frustrating experience.

This will not set up no matter what I do. The camera can be found by my phone but does not connect to the whole network. No flashing orange light (red maybe). No solid green light just a constant flashing green light. Sick of trying and no trouble shooting offered. Pretty poor device. AND YES I have reset everything on several occasions

This is crazy theirs no setup wizard for the camera on the website . Therefor i cannot sign up. Cant connect to the app on my phone went through steps about 6 times in every way i could still nothing ... On the phone with tech support and they don't know what the hell is going on either just wonderful . Drove 3 hrs to get this so i could watch my grandfather in case he falls down. Now i have to drive back 3 hrs to return it for something that may do the same thing again ! Can you say waste of time?...... If you have a gopro laying around use that and save yourself 45 mins on the phone trying to figure out something that does not work in the first place !

Is it possible to connect to the cloud with a PC? This only explains using iPhone or Android app, which I don't have access to. I already have a Dlink account for browser access to the camera, but I need this camera connected somehow.

They have manual options on their website. U can use this camera strictly through your PC. Doing it as we speak

RQType Gaming how do you connect to your PC? On their site there’s no installer. Some other models have it for Windows. I have trouble connecting to it using my office wifi

The DCS-936L camera does not store your videos in the cloud, it will only save to a SD card. Well if your lucky it will store your video on a SD card. This camera is junk

used to work , I turned off the router, and the cam would not connect to wi-fi anymore so I uninstalled the cam and now I cannot reinstall it and it never blinks orange

This has got to be without doubt the absolute worst setup oversight I have ever seen for a PC peripheral. Almost every other camera on their site has a wizard...except for this one. Lovely! You get a camera that is supposed to be connected to the network prior to using the phone app. Okay!...that's normal... except if you don't have WPS, then you have no way to get onto the network. You are then essentially 'dead' in the water. How dumb is this?

Minimally they should add a way to connect it via a PC. The barcode/app just does not work. I have older Dlink cameras that are easy to setup, plug them in, configure the WiFi (or use Ethernet for POE) and then you are good to go. It shouldn't be this difficult. The most ridiculous thing is a getting "an error has occurred" during setup. Uh, this is the 21st century. We (most of us) evolved away from 2 character error messages in the 1970s. "SN Error" etc.

This is excruciatingly annoying. This is my 4th Dlink camera and by far the hardest to set up for god knows reason! It's an 8600LH and the orange light flashes fine and the wizard gets to "Set the wifi on your mobile camera to "" however there is NO new wifi network from the phone appearing in my network settings on my phone at all NOR is there any wifi name/password listed ANYWHERE on the device at all or in any of the paperwork. How the fuck do I connect to the camera without an ethernet port or knowing what wifi network it's advertising. WHY can't these devices be simply DHCP assigned then allow me to find that IP on my network and then manage it from there...grrrrrr!!!!

this company's instructions suck, and this app does NOT connect easily at all. Once you have the device installed through the app, it's necessary to click on the "renew" icon at the very top of the device listing page. Just because the camera is listed doesn't mean the app is connected to it.

if I was a theif I would just unplug the power. Flip the camera to stare at the wall etc. This is a terrible "security" device. SO easily stolen too.

Biggest POS. Locks up all the time. Freezes constantly, disconnects when you focus in. Takes forever to connect. They need a major update.
