Only one unit needs to be connected to the Internet Service Provider (ISP) modem, the others can connect wirelessly using 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz WIFI signals.. please note, if you can connect the other two units via ethernet cable, it will definitely work better. On two story homes with basements, you're unlikely to have a handy ethernet cable running to the second floor. Your choices are to setup your first floor units approximately 4 feet off the floor in convenient locations near either side of the house, cabled into the basement to the hub unit connected to the ISP modem. Running an ethernet cable into your cold air return of your second story furnace ducting violates building fire codes, DO NOT DO THIS! You're better off either using either wireless connections or the first floor cabling described earlier.

Why do you need an account to set this up? The phone app looks fine, but can't this be done from a laptop via a browser, the same way any router is setup?

So if I only buy one do I have to have it plugged into my fibre? So I cannot use it in another room?

Do you have to plug the the two satellite units in by ethernet or can they connect via Wifie? If connecting by Wifie, is it slow? So for example, if I have the main router on the first floor and the other two on the second floor, how will my connection be on the second floor?

i have a 2 story, 3000 sq ft home. one unit connects by ethernet. the other two units connect by Wi-Fi to the main unit. I have fast connection over the entire house. Even in the garage where I have a 75 inch tv that I only stream on. I have 7 TVs with google Chromecast streaming to each one. A PS4, PS3, gaming PC, 4 smartphones, 3 laptops, 2 Nest Audio speakers, Nest Hub Max, Wi-Fi printer, microwave, two ovens, dishwasher, outside security camera and nest video doorbell all Wi-Fi enabled and running on the Deco mesh Wi-Fi. I can play a resource intensive game like Call of Duty and it has no problem handling every demand placed on it.

So, I'm about to buy two packs of these (for a total of 6). I am going to connect 4 of them directly by ethernet cable (over the four floors in my house which I have ethernet hard wired)... and then let the other 2 join the network via 5ghz. I'm also assuming that I simpluy set them all as access points as well (as I'll be using my original BT HUB with Wi-Fi turned off) So, my question is, with a 900Mb/s internet connection, and assuming four of these are ethernet connected to the network, can I assume I'd be getting 800Mb/s plus on wifi at 5Ghz when connected to the ones that are hard wired? Obviously say within 10ft of the wireless extender!
