Never knew about mesh till last week. Set up a 5 piece eero 6e pro system. I have 4 in the house and one in the garage and now I've got insane speed anywhere on my property. It took about an hour to set everybody up and its been wonderful.

@alexmaclean1 9 ай бұрын
@@benhartson I went with the Eero 6e pro. Initially I set up 5 units as my house was fiarly large and I wanted garage coverage too, but I found out that the range these have is pretty good and I've sent 2 back. I actually had too many and it was causing occasional issues with not knowing which hub to connect me to. 1 on each floor and one on the garage and I have excellent coverage.

Hey, do each eero require a Ethernet cord or is it just one that requires the Ethernet cord and the others won’t require it ?
@alexmaclean1
@alexmaclean1 5 ай бұрын
@@WarFighter so just the one nearest your modem needs an ethernet cable, the other ones in the mesh just require a USB charger which each unit comes with.

I have a google mesh network for home automation and improved WiFi. Funny thing is, i was surprised when the router i plugged in to use as an ethernet only connection automatically surrendered control to the mesh network, which tells me that if I wanted to, I could theoretically use any WiFi device to extend my network. That would make things very interesting if that is the case.

And if it totally replaces my current WiFi router, will my cable company give me the standard excuse of “It’s not compatible with our system” as seems to always happen?

I have a normal router (with wifi) and 4 output ports, that I currently use - If I replace my router with one of the mesh system then I have a limit of ethernet ports so do i first have a switch from my modem and then use one output to the mesh system or ???

Just buy standard routers and connect in Access Point mode, they are usually cheaper than mesh satellite devices, and you can also set them up with the same SSID - your devices will auto switch to whichever access point is nearest.

Thanks for the introduction to this topic. A couple of questions if I may: 1) Each nodes must be plugged into the mains for power but does it transmit any signals on the mains wiring? The reason I ask this is because HiFi critics often say that they have measurements to show that wifi extenders introduce noise into the system which has a detrimental effects the performance of Hi Fi components. 2) Do you have to run an ethernet patch cable between the base and the other nodes?

I think since Bluetooth is about 30ft connection, would you think that maybe these mesh aps' are interconnexted that way and has an algorythm or auto adjustment amongst each oth interms of antenuation, obstructions, that during setup doesn't it ask you to place the access points one by one during setup? I think its seting that up accordingly with the aforementioned in mind, obstructions, antenuation, having its mimmo or algo qos in its code. Possibly during setup adjusting the Dbi as well during setup even things like wifi throttle, Dbi and range bluetooth, Channel interference.
