Sir thank you so much 🙏 I cannot begin to explain to you how many problems I have had. I have ran a KZbin channel for almost a year from a smartphone. I have never really learned how to share files and such on a PC. So it has been a struggle. A fellow KZbinr who moved up in the world KZbin LOL gifted me this microphone. So I have never had an instruction booklet and I didn't know how to use it and he's very busy so I didn't want to bother him with it. I have tried a few tutorials and they just over-smart everything. So thank you so much for giving me an intelligent tutorial and layman terms. You are my hero ✌️

Hello, thank you for your video. I have a problem. I bought mv7+ and downloaded the motvi mix app. My problem is this: While speaking from the microphone, I want to hear my voice through the Macbook speaker at the same time, but it did not work. I went into the settings on the Macbook and selected the "audio input" section as mv7. I selected the "Audio output" section as macbook air speaker. But I still can't hear my own voice through the speaker. What setting should I use for this?

Unfortunately the LOCK mode doesn't lock one thing - the volume of the playback in the headphones (and thus also the button to switch between the green metering mode and the yellow headphone playback volume mix mode (or whatever it would be called).

@@magnuss7563 I’m saying you have to buy the appropriate cable by shure. Apparently not just any micro usb to lightning cable will work. It has to be their cable. It’s maddening. I just bought my mic and the cable yesterday. Working perfectly. There’s a trick though that I haven’t tested. Another KZbinr who does a lot of videos on this mic states that if you set the settings (like increase gain) on a pc, it’ll stay the same after you unplug from the pc and plug it to your phone. Hey Adrian!! Thank you for the video!! You do sound really good with this mic. I got one to test out for the far mode and I could not, in any way, get as good of sound beyond about 6 inches. Getting the mic out of camera shot (also around 10 inches for me), the audio was echo-y and hollow. I used USB auto, far, dark. Just like your settings. Did you do anything in post? Maybe my voice just isn’t the right fit for this mic. Which is normal. Each mic fits voices differently. :) Either way, appreciate the video!!

Buy the SM7B pop filter, the mv7 is known for it’s bad pop filter. The other filter is less than $20

Yea, you might need an external mixer

Sussed it - it’s as simple as setting up an aggregate group in the regular computer settings, then in Logic Audio settings select that aggregate group and that sends mics down separate channels. I’m needing the smallest mobile rig possible, hence wanting to use USB rather than one of my interfaces and XLRs. Thanks though! 🙏🏻

how good is it in cancelling the keyboard stroke noise? is this recommended for screen recording tutorials where its heavy on keystrokes? My current one, Blue yeti, no matter what settings, picks the keystroke sound heavily which is predominant on recordings. is it worth using this one instead of blue yeti?

Just recorded my first KZbin voiceover with this mic and have a question. How does the mic know which level is the “correct” level? If I’m recording directly into my editing software which is davinci resolve, if I want to increase the db just a touch do I change the computer input level or the mixer on the VO channel level? I will say the level stayed very consistent but I did notice when I spoke louder for emphasis I got some distortion in the recording. Not really clipping but more of over condesored almost glitchy

Interesting. It's like auto settings on a camera where you can change the compensation. Maybe you may need to switch into Manual and set it there if you feel it's off. Or as you say, increase it in Resolve

@@AdrianSalisbury hey, appreciate the reply! I did follow these instructions. I ended up returning the mic and getting the Shure SM7B instead. I actually had the same issue with the SM7B, but after plugging into an interface (Elgato Wave) and downloading the Wave Link software, it started to sound beautiful. From my research and responses I got on a Reddit thread, it sounds like my issue might’ve been that my PC was missing a driver that it needed to processes audio properly (being either WASAPI or ASIO, which admittedly, I don’t have a clue about hahaha) I’m guessing that the Wave Link software is using an ASIO driver or something and that’s why it’s working properly now. Thanks again for replying to me!

Hey Adrian, really appreciate the video. Recently bought the MV7 thanks to this video. Have you noticed a difference running the microphone using the Micro USB to USB-C cable... rather than the normal Micro USB to USB-A cable? Both are supplied with the microphone but I haven't seen ANYONE talk about the difference in quality between the two. Asking because my Mac M1 Mini's USB ports are too close together to run the CamLink 4k and microphone, so I have to use the USB-C connection on the mic. Wondering if it negatively affects quality though and can't find anyyyyything on the internet about it lol.

Hey man, from what I’ve seen and heard, doesn’t seem to have any negative effects going through the USB-C. At the end of the day, the mic still uses a micro-usb connection to the main port of the mic, so it should just come out with the same quality.

You can set up, click Lock icon in the app, then close the app. The settings are supposed to save to the mic.

Is it in auto mode out of the box by default? And are the app settings stored to the microphone itself, or is the app required while in use? I'm looking to use this on a work computer where I can't install any app I want. Or perhaps on a Linux system where there is no app. I could temporarily use a Windows or Mac computer for setup if needed though.

Just picked this mic up and i just cannot get it to put out any sort of reasonable volume. No chance i could have it placed where you have it in this video. My voice comes through as a whisper and if i crank the gain right up it picks up way too much background noise. Not very happy with it so far which is dissapointing as it had really good reviews. Has anybody had any issues with MV7 affecting playback on PC? For example, when I have my mic plugged in to my PC, I can't then play this video so I can set it up. The second I plug it into the USB and it turns on, I get a spinning disk on YT. I feel like the mic is editing what I watch or listen too.

One question about my Schure MV7....I have done everything as you have but I am experiencing an odd minor static or scratch noise every few words when I speak and especially on "p" & "t" .....I have tried both far and near settings but this is the only issue I find with this mic. For the “P” issue I’ve heard others replace the MV7 windscreen with the RK345, which is the windscreen that comes with the SM7B.

This video works fine if you know literally nothing about technology or cant be bothered to Google a little but it was barebones. Stuff you can learn if you read the instructions, not really useful if you want to properly fine tune the mic. Quite disappointed.

You are clearly not recording with the settings you are showing because otherwise your voice would changing as you change the settings and you probably would not be able to use near mode with the microphone that far. Feels rather fake.
