Thank you for the information! It seems like there are a lot of differing opinions out there about baby tortoise set up. I appreciate you providing this video and all the details about care you provide from your years of experience.

This is an awesome video! Super helpful! I did this kit a year ago and my 2 babies I got from AZ Sulcata are getting huge!

Can you make a video of how to setup an enclosure outside when they are first ready to go out there? Thank you!

Hey, I love what you do over at Arizona Sulcatas! I’m curious however on how long a 40 gallon set up will last you? I’m looking to preorder my Sulcata through you but I’m looking for an enclosure that’ll last me a relatively long period of time.
@azsulcata6 ай бұрын
Sulcatas all grow at extremely different rates so there's no telling exactly how long a 40 gal tank will work for every circumstance. In general however it will last about 1-3 years depending on its growth rate. Generally once they outgrow a 40 gal tank they are ready to be outdoors.

@@azsulcataThat makes sense based off of average growth rates I’ve seen. Thank you for your timely response! I greatly appreciate it.

Is a 1 year old sulcata considered a hatchling? Will I still need to create humidity for a 1 year old sulcata enclosure and how long do I do this for? I also live in AZ
@azsulcata3 жыл бұрын
A one year old is considered a yearling but care really depends more on size rather than age. Mine get moved outside full time once they are about 5" - 6" big and humidity becomes less important. They still need bi-weekly soakings, access to fresh water at all times, and a heated house to sleep in.

@@azsulcata Awesome, thank you. And are people allowed to visit your tortoise farm ? Just curious cause I think I live close by

I was wondering if this was ok to do for a hatchling Russian tortoise?
@azsulcata3 жыл бұрын
Yes but you won't need the temps to be as high as they need to be for a Sulcata. Overall setup can certainly be mimicked though!

Is that a 20 gallon
@cocheting_withaliyah11492 жыл бұрын
Would i be able to just use reptibark
@azsulcata2 жыл бұрын
You can but it will be harder to maintain humidity levels as it does not hold moisture very well.

Can I use a 20 gallon for Russian tortoise
@azsulcata2 жыл бұрын
You're still going to want 40 gal or bigger for a Russian tortoise as well.

Eh. It’s not the best idea to put tortoises in an enclosure that they can see through. Especially glass since they will think they can through it, hence causing stress on the tortoises. I really recommend putting them in a wood enclosure or a cement tub. I wouldn’t buy a glass one it’s not good :/

I explain this is the video. It's as easy as taping the bottom or purchasing an aquarium background.
