a how-to-setup video.. would be nice if you showed then, how-to synch the trigger w the flash...

perfect I figured it out in about 2 min with this video getting my flash to work off camera with my 70D. Once I figured out that the pop up flash on my camera has to be up, while in optical slave, In the 70D you have to go into the 2nd menu "Flash Control ", then go to "Built in Flash settings", then "wireless func." and chose one of the options there. ta da. so easy...

The 430EX-III RT from Canon will most likely be compatible as Canon usually keep all their camera and flashes compatible. If you want to make it wireless, get the transmitter as well. Link to that is in the video description.

My flash is 600EX-RT and I also have ST-E3-RT. TransmitterIn this video I found that its possible to set an ST-E3-RT Transmitter with any other flash except just 600EX-RT. Now my question is: which other Canon models are capable to set with ST-E3-RT Transmitter? Please help me to know the other settable models.
@OrionMediaGroup8 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for asking the question. There are 2 models compatible with the ST-E3-RT transmitter which are the 600EX-RT and the other is the 430EX-III-RT which is the latest mid range flash from Canon. Hope that helps

You have a few more.. 1. ATG Gold 1K Flash (transforms your Canon RT to 1,000 feet) 2. Canon 600EX II-RT 3. Canon 600EX-RT (Ryan stated) 4. Canon 430EX III (Ryan sated) ATG Gold 1K Transmitter is 1,000 feet vs Canon ST-E3-RT is 100 feet ATG Gold 1K Transmitter is fully compatible with ATG Gold 600ws TTL monolight. If you want the power. And a must when shooting wireless ETTL II HSS!

Will this 430EX-III-RT work with the Canon T6S without me needing to buy additional equipment to use it with the camera? If it can work with it; will it be able to use either slave or master or just one of them? Trying to decide if I should order one-Thanks.
@OrionMediaGroup8 жыл бұрын
I believe it will but would need to be setup to use the pop-up flash and the settings inside the menu to link them. Without the ST-E3-RT transmitter, the range will be reduced as it would be connecting via optical rather than radio transmission. Hope that helps
@angelisone7 жыл бұрын
Yes, the 430EX III-RT becomes an expense flash because you have to set it into Wireless IR (infrared-line-of-site) while you must pop-up the T6s flash. And go into the camera's flash menu to set it to wireless. Like what Ryan Fowler Photography said, it will have limited ranges. And may not work well in bright out door.

Can I use an S2-E2 transmitter with the Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT Flashgun? I have the 430EX III-RT Flashgun but am trying to find a more affordable transmitter that’s compatible.
@OrionMediaGroup4 жыл бұрын
Good question but I haven't used that one so could tell you I'm sorry. From a quick Google search, it seems like a much older unit and not even sure if it has radio compatibility. If you can save a little more for the ST-E3-RT, I know that's a brilliant trigger and gives you a lot of control over the flashes. Like the saying goes, buy nice or buy twice. That would be my recommendation anyway.
@DeeDee-yp2mc4 жыл бұрын

Thank you for your video My camera is Canon 5D Mark IV, How to trigger 430EX II-RT wirelessly using Canon Speedlite 270EX II as an on camera flash?
@OrionMediaGroup5 жыл бұрын
I have never used a 270 EX II so I can't give you any specific advice. If you want to trigger a canon flash with another flash though, try setting it to optical wireless flash mode so it goes off when it senses a bright flash light.
@angelisone4 жыл бұрын
The 270EX is a slave only. While the 430EX III-RT has ATG dual transmitting (2.4GHz & IR TTL) You will have to place the 430 on camera, set it wireless IR Master. While the 270EX II into wireless IR Slave.

@angelisone6 жыл бұрын
No, it can't be done. But if you buy one of ATG's say Yongnuo 600EX RT series then you have: 1. With ATG on camera, then you have wireless IR in Group A, B & C 2. With ATG on Master R(radio), then you have wireless radio with 430EX III-RT. 3. ATG/YN600EX-RT II, using Nikon camera's wireless IR ITTL with Nikon flash. The 430EX III-RT and 430EX or 430EX II DO NOT have ATG Master Radio ETTL. ATG Gold series, Canon 600EX-RT & 600EX II-RT and ATG/Yongnuo YN600EX-RT have built-in ATG hybrid circuits (wireless radio TTL and wireless IR TTL for Master and Slave). Whitney Bowman, just buy the ATG's Yongnuo 600EX-RT II, then you got choices: A. ATG wireless R ETTL II with two groups (A on camera & B with 430EX III-RT) B. ATG wireless IR ETTL II w/3 groups (A on camera, B & C with 430s in slaves) If you are still confuse or lost, contact Alzo Digital, CT. Then ask for repair, service & technical from ATG.

Is this flash plenty powerful for most portrait sessions?
@OrionMediaGroup8 жыл бұрын
+Nicholas Gonzalez There is a lot of power in this flash but it depends on what type of portraits you are doing. If you’re doing outdoor, I’d go with the 600EX-RT which will make it easier, although this will work but you may need a higher output which will drain your batteries faster. I use this one in the studio and it works well but prefer to use my bigger one. Hope that helps to answer your question.

nice video. Is there a third party transmitter (yongnuo?) to control 430ex-iii-rt along with third party flashes?
@OrionMediaGroup8 жыл бұрын
Thank you. You can get third-party triggers although I don't know of any specific ones that you could look into. I know that Youngnuo have transmitters that you can link together and sit your flash on although I don't know the specific model. The best thing to do is just reasearch which triggers you can get. I think there are also ones like cactus who do triggers. Hope that helps.

The ATG Gold 1K Transmitter worked beyond 1,000 feet with ATG and Canon RT systems. Canon wireless radio system is limited to 100 feet. It would be best if you buy the ATG Gold 1K Flash. Then it can talk wireless radio ETTL II to your Canon 430EX-III-RT. You will have Group A and Group B flashes. If you of Ryan Fowler Photography want more information, please check Alzo Digital, CT. Then ask for equipment repairs & help.

@OrionMediaGroup4 жыл бұрын
I don't really get the question. Do you mean will the flash go off without the trigger? If you are, then you could potentially use optical transmission but you would need a pop up flash on your camera. Otherwise, you'll have to put it on the camera.

@OrionMediaGroup8 жыл бұрын
In your camera, you need to go to built in flash settings, change the mode to custom wireless and make sure you’re got the right channel on that and make sure your pop up flash is up when you take a photo. The settings on the flash need to be optical transmission optical slave, with the lightning bolt. When you take a photo, your pop up flash should fire but it only fires enough to set the flash off. Hope that helps.
@OrionMediaGroup8 жыл бұрын
Also, make sure you’ve got it on the same channel and your settings are saying you will fire all flash, not just A, B or C.
