i have a ROG Strix G7 RTX3070 with a AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphics I've been trying to get a custom res to work and nothing have worked for me there aren't even a option on the amd software for custom resolution or on the nvidia control panel CRU just give me a black screen after flackery for a bit. a while ago i saw a video where they were able to change the resolution of a application my adding a line of code to the exe but i cant fine that, does anyone have a clue regarding that?

for 75 hz monitors, when you add resolutions in standard resolutions, add 60 hz and 75 hz of that resolution for it to actually fully display scale. for example you want to add 1440 x 1080 to standard resolution, you need to add 1440 x 1080 75hz and 1440 x 1080 60hz. if you only add 75 hz res on standard, in valorant it will look like 30 fps, its very choppy, if you only add 60 hz it will show black bars in valorant, if you add both 75hz and 60hz resolution, it will be display scaled, stretched and its 75hz and very smooth edit: you could also place the 60hz and 75hz stretch rez on the data block and make the timings exact reduced

Yea I showed Fr33thy's whole community how to do Display scaling. And after some rumors spread i got labeled as an "ISO Seller" and they banned me from everywhere without even listening to my story. Then he deleted all the videos we did together lol. Thankfully i have old Display Scaling video that shows the short part of me explaining him how to do it on his own channel. I thought Fr33thy generally had a good community because of his branding and stuff. Later i found out what type of person he is and I'm glad im no longer part of that community. As for the monitor, im glad everything is working fine, Xl2546K has to be the best in terms of compatibility for Display Scaling. Go frag out and enjoy :D

I've done this with a display that has G-Sync. I turned it off anyways for CSGO but it sounded like it couldn't be done. I actually got it to automatically switch the resolution when I start the game and still display scale. Display is 240Hz ASUS VG259QM It actually overclocks to 280Hz but yeah it's really 240Hz imo

If this didn't work for you, try setting the default res for windows that he sets in the video as 1920x1080 60hz in the detailed resolutions bit in CRU to 1920x1080 144hz or whatever refresh rate the other res's you are using are. for example, if you are trying to display scale 1280x960 144hz, you still put that into extensions blocks and then put the detailed resolution (that will be the default for windows), as 1920x1080 144hz.

if youre usign dp just unplug and plug your monitor with hdmi, then just use reset-all exe and plug via dp again. If your monitor doesnt have dual input then F, you need to plug another display or a tv to use the reset-all exe.

If you edit monitor EDID it usually contains stuff like HDMI Support, Audio etc. Leave the audio and HDMI there and your monitor speakers will work. Run reset-all and then redo CRU settings

@@KajzerD hey man, appreciate that you took the time to reply my comment. sorry i didnt state the problem fully though. whenever i tried to make my own res with exact reduced timing my monitor speakers wouldnt work. i only deleted the tv resolutions in my data block and nothing else. Although, i found a solution by copying the original 60hz res thats in my monitor preset, pasted it, and modified it to 144hz and it worked. Love it that you still respond man keep up the work! ^^

When you plug in a different monitor, your system will recognize that and it will automatically use default monitor EDID

I put 60hz so that monitor boots into it. Then i change to 144hz. Some people had issue where they would leave 144hz only and change timings, then after restart64 screen would be black. So i just left 60hz there as a prevention.

Should this work if I have a triple monitor setup using AMD Eyefinity. I have 3, 1440p monitors. So I end up with a native super ultrawide resolution of 7680x1440. I want to force it to run at 5760x1080 so I can get better performance. AMD adrenaline software won't let me downscale once I turn on Eyefinity. I heard CRU might be able to.

Hi KajzerD, very informative upload dude! I have a question, i own Alienware AW2721D, 240hz, 1440p, 27", G-sync (the real thing not the compatible version), Ips (Shrouds new monitor) and I've been experimenting for a while. My main goal was lowering the diagonal from 27" to around 25,5" for better peripheral vision in competitive PvP games with black boarders around the image since i perform way better on smaller diagonals than 27", have better resolution than 1080p for clear visuals and spotting enemies, lower resolution than my native 1440p for maxing out my 240hz at all times of the monitor through my Asus Rtx 3080 TUF gaming Oc GPU, and retain the perfect Ips colors. Actually im just trying to re-create my BenQ xl2426k type of experience on my Alienware AW2721D but with a better resolution and Ips colors. My results are> custom 1296p resolution (2306x1296px) which is as crystal clear as 1440p, on a 25,5" diagonal, 240hz, Gsync disabled and while my Nvidia Control panel says perform scaling on: Display im pretty sure that its actually scalling on GPU since my active monitor signal remains the native 1440p instead my desktop/gaming resolution of 1296p. Is there any way of forcing it to be Dsiplay scaling? Would love to hear your opinion!

I have the same monitor, tried to set a custom res of 2560x1600 and 3840x2400, neither worked for me. All I get is a black screen and then the monitor goes into standby mode. Am I missing something?

@@salariqbal the values need to be divided perfectly by 4s and 8s that means the resolutions that are working are: 2048x1152px, 2176x1224px, 2368x1332px and my favorite on which im gaming which is 2304x1296px. ALL on 240hz with Display port cable.

Hello fellow cs gamer. I got BenQ XL2540 240Hz (the first one that came without dyac). Do you recommend "exact reduced" timings for this? It appears we have similar monitor.

I always go for Reduced timings due to high refresh rate. Exact reduced is not bad, but I still prefer CVT-RB2 Reduced because that's mostly the standard displays use. I think in newer CRU versions it's called "LCD Reduced"

@@KajzerD I cant even find CVT-RB2 reduced in my version of CRU. In changelog it says "LCD reduced" has been eliminated because it was too arbitrary and only worked for certain resolutions. Someone in Blurbusters suggested trying "Exact reduced" for an alternative. What do you use?

Nothing bad is gonna happen but it means that most probably your monitor cannot display scale or nvidia drivers are just being annoying. You can try adding 1 standard 60hz resolution and check if Nvidia gets the display option after Restart64, if it doesn't then you are kinda out of luck :/
