Hi Hik Guru, thanks for sharing this great informative video... I have a question can the strobe LED be controlled using the API or ONVIF or maybe a custom web request?

When you clicked back into nvr web page and selected event and set the intrusion detection zone you then clicked on notification but why didnt you click on the light and audio links for that camera? I know you logged into that camera on the previous web page and selected the warning and flashing light but why didnt you tell it to flash and give audio warning in the nvr web browser page? Also i dont seem to be able to set the brightness or volume of the message. Every time i lower each one from 100 to say 50 and click save and go to another camera and then come back its set at a 100 again. What am i doing wrong?

At the time of recording the video the firmware was different, and it was advisable to set the strobe speaker via the cameras own interface as opposed to the NVRs. Currently, it is now advisable to set it up via the NVR menus and not directly on the camera. When you change the volume, hit save, does it say “save succeeded”? If it does and you’ve still got the issue I would then go to the maintenance menu and reboot the camera, then go back to the volume screen and see if it’s applied. Also make sure all camera and NVR firmwares are on latest version

Yes it does say saved and then I try to change the next camera volume and save and then the next. When I revisit each camera they all still say 100%. I will try rebooting the cameras like you say. Thank you so much for your time. Its horrible sat here trying to work out what I am doing wrong searching through Google for an answer

I have liked & subscribed.I have DS-7616 NI I2 16P NVR & gen 2 live guard cameras all with the latest firmware, but I can't find the function to disable the liveguard strobe/audible function via the Hik-Connect app. This is particularly helpful, when i need to do this remotely. Can you help with this please? Thanks in advance

Hi John, appreciate the kind words. If you go onto Hik-Connect, on the Home Screen to the right side of the name of your system you should have a share and a settings icon, click on the hexagonal settings icon, then click on notification, then it should say “receive events, but not allow push notification, and not allow audio and strobe etc..”, if you select that option when required and that should do the trick for you. That is the only way to do it remotely via the app. Regards, Hik Guru

@Hik Guru Thank for this info. What I'm trying to achieve is to remotely via the Hik-Connect app, enable or disable the light & audio alarm function whenever I want on whatever liveguard camera I choose. Rather than be limited by the event schedule

Hi Jarrah, are you talking about the ColourVu light, or the strobe light to activate upon motion between these times? If it’s the ColourVu light, you can set a schedule for the supplemental light to stay on, you set this manually under the image menu, logging directly into the camera.

Hi. Yes it’s a DS-2CD2347G2-LSU/SL 4 MP ColorVu Strobe Light and Audible Warning Fixed Turret Network Camera. The strobe is only set 20:00 - 06:00

@@pdj1511 which event type have you set intrusion detection or line crossing? Have you ticked human/vehicle detection on the event page, or if vehicles aren’t necessary, left it unticked that?

@@pdj1511 is your camera running the latest firmware? How close is your zone to the road? Have you set a time threshold at all? It could be the car headlights or even a reflection of the car driving past.

@@HikVisionGuru the zone is close to the road. It’s the boundary of the drive so cars going past set it off. Time threshold is set.
