How to setup NordVPN for Xbox One (October 2020)

Greetings Folks.
In this video, I will teach you how to setup NordVPN for an Xbox one console via PC ethernet connection.
In the future, I will be doing this setup again for the Xbox Series X.

Method not working after turning off PC? Try Disabling and Reenabling your adapters. 1. Type "Settings" in windows search bar. 2. Network & Internet 3. Under Related Settings > Change Adapter settings. 4. Under your connected Ethernet for Xbox, Right Click and Disable. 5. Right Click on Nordlynx and Disable. 6. Right Click on Nordlynx and Enable 7. Under your connected Ethernet for Xbox, Right Click and Enable.

Don’t mean to tell you how things are done, but for those of you who don’t have money to dump on the equipment he is talking about the reality is you don’t need any of it. You can do all of this with a laptop a basic work or school laptop at that. First you keep your Xbox unplugged and you first plug the Ethernet cable into the Xbox then you setup the sharing between your vpn and your Ethernet port. After that is done you hook the Ethernet cable to your computer then plug in your Xbox and you are good to go. A lot cheaper than buying a wireless card that is useless entirely to doing this type of thing.

Older video but hoping you can help. I’m doing this same setup and am using it for Warzone. Let’s say I’m in the US and want a less populated lobby like Egypt. When I load into a game I seem to be playing against people from that Egypt server area rather than people by me. Is this due to a dynamic IP address? Can this even be changed? Thanks for your help

This is pretty common issue I experience every few days. I disable, and reenable the Nord Lynx and Ethernet together. Works everytime.

Yes this does work. Change your VPN location to the US, or supported country, and your golden. Ive gotten US Netflix though this method.

The only way I know to get VPN though onto an Xbox is via ethernet port from a PC. There maybe other methods out there that work wirelessly, but I am unsure.

That should make it work but you need to check through cmd prompt if your laptop can host network server

I did a few different troubleshoots and different methods but it has the Ethernet and nord tap as a second network unidentified. It seems like two networks are running at the same time when connected . It gets the regular connection and has the vpn address on the browser but gives double nat. Any suggestions for a fix? I did this on a laptop

I suggest disabling/re-enabling the internet adapters you are using. Sometimes my Xbox wont get an internet connection with everything setup. But after a network adapter reset, everything works fine.

If you are doing a wireless setup, it helps to have a good WiFi card in your computer. I changed mine recently, and it doesn't make much a difference with ping. Only download speed.

No. This will not take your actual IP off of that website. There are two solutions: 1: Ask the admin on the website to blacklist your IP address. This will cost about $10 or so. Cant remember how much. 2: Change your IP address by contacting your ISP. There are a number of ways ISPs do this, so I will not list any here.

Yes. This works. You would need 2 ethernet cables, and 2 ethernet ports in your laptop.

@@algutche This is a fairly common issue. I experience this ever few days. My work around for "NAT TYPE UNAVAIABLE" is to disable/enable my network adapters. ie: (disable nord, turn off sharing, disable ethernet, and then re-enable all of them again).

I always use my VPN whenever I am playing destiny. WIthin the past 7 months, Ive only be hit off once. When I was getting hit, my internet was still holding up to the attack, but I was forced to shutoff my console because the tirals round wouldn't end. However, I dont 100% understand how a booter can pull your actual IP off of a VPN. Explain to me with some science :)
