Ok... so I can control lights with my phone and added the hue bridge and when issuing voice commands the google assistant says it cannot reach the hub. Worked until about 3 months ago. How about a video on fixing the system?

When I click Philips hue it just loads for a bit and the says "couldn't update the setting. check your connection". I 've tried from 3 different phones and still not working. I have a bridge and a google home pod.

I noticed this only works with the bridge not the Bluetooth lights the Google home needs to be in the same room as the lights themselves

@@brodiebooth3071 No, the issue is when I try to confirm the permission to connect Google to Hue... It does NOTHING, and the weird part is that I had it linked before, but added new lights and now it will not sync with the Google Assistant.

Hi y’all! For people who don’t have a hue bridge and are having trouble connecting a google assistant with their light bulb, you just have to navigate through the Philips hue app, first, not through the google Home app shown in the video (it’ll never connect!). After you link your bulb into the Hue app you click Settings on the bottom right, voice assistants, and THEN go and connect to the google Home app from there. Hope this helps! :)

I'm having the same issue. I skip "Complete home setup" and grant permission, and it takes me back to the Google Home app and says something went wrong.
