Okay I think this makes sense. So, what you're essentially doing is making the toggling of gyro aim in steam be the same button that you aim down sights with in the game, right? That way your view isn't bobbing around when you aren't aiming?

I wish there was a way that the game recognizes the controller as a PS with teh corresponding buttons, instead, it shows XBOX layout.

Try this: -Go to settings on Steam -click on Click on "Controller" on the left menu -Under Contoller Configuration page, click "GENERAL CONTROLLER SETTINGS" - Make sure Playstation controller is selected and Uncheck "Xbox Configuration Support" It should work for most games if they support DS4 by default.

will you also make a video to set up games with gyro that do not support mixed inputs. some games requere to shift al the buttons to keyboard inputs when using a mouse because you cant use a controller and mouse at the same time. I know how to use action layers for this, but maybe other people who see your vido's dont. Hope you will make a video about that in the future (if you have not done so already that is).

I think you mean how to configure a controller with Gyro for games which do not support any controller input. Games which require you to navigate menus ingame to manage your inventory and skill etc. Its tricky but it could be possible using steam client only and using action sets. Will try to make a tutorial on this if I get some free time.

@@ruhoujinn no i meant exactly what i said. some games wont allow you to use a mouse and a controller at the same time. So when i map the mouse to the gyro i can not use the left analog stick at the same time. /for that you have to use an action layer to shift al of the controller inputs to keyboard when you activate the mouse/gyro. Games like god of war. try using the mouse and then walking with the left analog stick. the stick will not repsond. in some games the cotnreols will shift between keyboard and controllers, on other gaems they cant be accesed at the same time. What you said is also true for some games. for example the pc version of gun does not allow for controller inputs at all. you have to basically map all of the buttons to keyboard and mouse. The difference to what i describe is that for games that do not allow controllers you have to pemanently map the controller layout to keyboard. For the mixed input problem you only need to map the keyboard buttons to the action layer. you shift to the action layer on the same button you use to activate gyro. however this only works for games that have ads modes. For example a game like horizon zero dawn. when i pull the left trigger and go to ads mode , i activate the mouse/ gyro and i shift all of the buttons to keyboard. On keyboard you lose analog movement. Hope you get what i mean. Most people that are not comfortable with input mappers would not know howe to do this, so they could benefit from a video that explainse howe to do it and why they should use it in the first place,

I was trying this tuto to use my gyroscope as a joystick instead of a mouse :c but no matter what settings I put, it flies all over the place at a single movement, like, it doesn't mind any of my settings (I try to eliminate the use of the Y axis but in-game, it's using moving on the Y axis bruh)

I remember I had to map gyro as joystick for farcry 3 because mapping mouse to gyro was not working. The control in the game had to be set to controller for this to work and I had to fiddle around with the sensitivity on the steam app and in game to make it work. Although the end result was not so good, it was still playable with the gyro. Hope this helps

@@ruhoujinn that is most likely because alot of pc games dont allow for mixed input. I dont know if you know this already., But mixed input means that you can use a mouse when the gamepad is also active. Alot of games just block gamepad controls when the mouse is detected. Or there are some wheird mouse acceleration bugs that occur when mixed input is being used (like the latest patch of days gone). Some games do work correctly with mixed inputs, like the Resident evil 4 remake (although this is the first time that a Resident evil game allows mixed inputs). But alot of games quickly shift button promps depending on if mouse movement is detected. Depending on if you want gyro always on or only on aiming downd sights theire are a few ways around this problem. When you want gyro always on in games thant donw allow for mixed onputs, you could just map keyboard and mouse controls to the gamepad. You would lose analog movement, but some games you can simulate this depending on if the game has a run and walk button. Rewasd has a few ring bindings for that. and on steam you can put the walk key on the outer ring bonding of girectional pad WASD. then you just reverse the ringbinding and set the treshold for that. then put the run button on the click action of the left stick. If you want gyro only on ADS mode then i suggest the following option: The second option is to use some kind of layer that you switch to when you pull the left trigger / go into ADS mode. on this layer you also just map keyboard controls. so when you aim down sights you would lose analog movement, but the gyro can now also function as a mouse. i find the downgrade hard to notice on fps games. Also some pc games have forced on mouse acceleration. For example on the new version of crysis there is forced on acceleration. so i cant use flickstick with it. I just installed the xbox gamepass pc version of the original and added that to steam. This older version had proper raw mouse inputs, so it works correctly with both mouse gyro and flickstick.

I came here because I wanted to play House of the Dead Remake for Steam with my DS4. I did everything as instructed. The gyro works but you have to have it as mouse and keyboard for it to read and you can't shoot or reload with the controller! WTF.

Before bashing the video and crying that it doesn't work in your case, you firstly should check the game description, if it doesn't say "controller supported", it won't work.

Check the video from 2.45 in the controller configuration page, click on the gyro icon of the ps4 controller. you should see the dropdown labelled "style of input". select mouse from there. I have not tested this using a PS5 controller as I have not been able to get one.

Its a steam game so there is no reason why it shouldn't work. Did you check your steam controller configuration for that game?

Officially supported gyro controllers on steam are: Dualshock 4, Dualsense, Switch Pro and steam controller. Generic controllers or xbox controller's will not work
