Is there a way to use this method with non orthographic images? They are not always available
@3dplockis Жыл бұрын
Well, depending on what you mean, you can use the same method for ordinary photos. However, you have to be aware of lens distortions and other factors like that. At least with this approach, you can obtain good reference images. I used this technique for my own car, and it turned out okey. I took photographs and numerous measurements. Measurements are crucial here. Additionally, you might need multiple photos from different position on a side to minimise lens distortions.

You can use fspy to be able to model in the same perspective or make it orthographic with shoebox

Do you need to resize the image or is it already the right size?
@3dplockis Жыл бұрын
The image from the blueprints.com? Or how do you mean? Well yes you almost always need to rezise the image in blender if you want to use my method, see 1:16 in the video. But if scale and size is not important for your project you could use an image as it is. Or do you mean resize an image before you use it in blender, if so no, you don`t need to resize it before using it in blender.

Thanks for the video. I have a simple question. I was a following a video for 2.7 and saw that you can hide the images fo different views (Image/All Views/Select the views). As I am using 3.2 .... Has that been done away in 3.0 and forward?? I am a blender newbie !!!

How does the blueprint become the vector file??
@3dplockis Жыл бұрын
I don't completely understand? Because in this example, the blueprint is not a vector file (*.png). But as I mentioned at the end, you can obtain vector blueprints from blueprints.com. Another way to solve this, if you have a pixelated blueprint, is to convert it using a program like Adobe Illustrator, but that is a topic all in itself

Excellent tutorial 👍👌🦫🇺🇸💰😎💪👏⛄🎄🍩 It's smart to scale your reference drawings before you start any modeling in my opinion....

Thanks! When you mention 'next stage,' are you referring to the next stage of building a car? If so, I have several different videos demonstrating that process. Or is there something specific you'd like to see?
