Like 3 hours into why I cannot get my HP printer to scan to a folder (but recently switched to Windows 10). This finally helped me as I created a new local user and then it worked. THANK YOU!!!

Is it possible to setup a machine in this way, that every user in a local network can use it via TWAIN and that the scan results are saved e.g. on an "open" netstorage? So that not a special user is needed to scan, just every PC in this network could?

Hi Maged - the "U" at the end of that model name stands for "unconnected." From the factory it did not have network capability, but there were options to add printing, and once you added the printing you could add the scanning. The quickest way to tell is to check the back of the machine where the cable from the scanner plugs into a silver plate. If there is a Cat5 port the networking was added. If you have the Cat5 port step in front of the machine and touch System Settings > Administrator settings > password is 00000 by default > scroll down and look for Product Key, check to see if network scanning expansion kit is highlighted. equipmybiz.com

Been trying to set up my Sharp MX 3071 to Scan to my Folder on my PC and it just says Network Error it makes no sense everything is set up exact.

Try disabling your anti-virus and seeing if it the scan will go through.

sir, i buy an used printer model number MX-2314 and I tried to set scan folder on it but in the address book I can see a some folders with different path type like ip address, I ignore that and deleted and I set my folder and I tried to scan on it but i am getting an error. the thing is I am using same printer for printing from my local network. please help me .... if you can.
