Hello mate, I see you have a Soundbomb on the side of your MT. I'm trying to find how to install it to the bike but I can't find any mounting brackets for the MT-09. Do you actually need to buy a separate bracket or can you mount it straight on? Any help would be appreciated!

Preload doesn't alter the stiffness of the spring, it alters the ride height/geometry of the bike so that it sit's correctly when under load, compression adjustment alters the stiffness in the spring when hitting a bump, rebound controls the rate in which the spring extends keeping the tyre in contact with the road, you're giving out incorrect info.

Great video Mr B! Looking forward for that oil change video. I'm wondering how much tyre pressure you run on the rear wheel. Iv'e noticed that when I use the recommended settings (42) the tyre tends to skid a lot (makes wheelies a bitch..). Also, Bull Riding like a boss at 18:58 :-D

+Zoharargov Well done picking up on the Bull Riding... I almost added a country track ;) - Pressure depends a lot on the weather, just don't go below 38 unless you are just stunting and not riding on the road. RSMF-*RI* Mr B

Too much rebound on the camera. :) Why don't bike manufacturers supply center stands anymore? There are so many jobs on a bike where a stand makes life a lot easier. It cant be a weight issue, they never weighed that much...I can only assume they are cutting costs. Bit tight arsed if you ask me.

that preload adjustment on the rear shock does not change the "bounciness" he keeps speaking of. if he had a damper adjustment that would do it, all the preload does is adjust the ride height. I imagine there is a optimal ride height for performance and the adjustment is to accommodate different rider weights. but the bounciness spoken of is unchanged, the weight of the bike never changes so by loosening the spring what he is doing all he is doing is making the spring collapse farther before taking the load of the bike and rider. he says one inch is optimum it will still be bouncy!!!

at 6:10 into the video he says, "any more than an inch of sag and you will be bouncing a lot". like that somehow at the sweet spot of 1" of sag the bike suspension works properly but at any other ride height it will be bouncy. that just simply is not true, now there is a generally recognized sweet spot to the ride height adjustment that has the bike floating on the spring between fully extended and fully compressed. according to this guy on this bike it is 1", I don't know what the manufacture claims he may be right, but to suggest that out of that range the bike becomes bouncy is wrong, the bike will bounce the same or have the same bouncy sensation anywhere in the travel of the spring between full extend and contraction, the spring rate never changes on the shock and the rider and bike weight never change it requires the same amount of spring compression each time to suspend the weights. the difference is that the preload allows adjustment so that the load is more quickly balanced at different heights. he is right that if the sag is two low you may get a bottom out of the shock prematurely and you may perceive that as bouncy but it is not truly bouncy exactly. bouncy would be having a spring with no damper, can you imagine that sensation!!! if you have a bouncy situation in the suspension the correct adjustment for (bouncy-ness) is the dampener,!!! you should not associate the ride height adjustment with improving dampening function!!! I am simply correcting his terminology errors. at 9:10 into the video he says, "well you can certainly feel that its bouncy", as he jumps up and down on the bike and he gets a lot of travel from the shock while in its highest unloaded setting. by unloading the spring via the preload adjustment he is causing the spring to be decompressed and so to get the bike into equilibrium with the shock it squats the suspension further, he now has a lot more movement from fully extended that he can manipulate the bike in but it has not become more bouncy just more travel out of the same weight input! you want the suspension to be somewhere between fully extended and contracted during riding so that the suspension soaks up the bumps and accelerations and decelerations the best it can without reaching the end of its useful travel and the sag or ride height will have an optimal spot perhaps one inch from full extend, but don't confuse this function with the thing becoming bouncy because it is not!!! that is the point I was trying to make I stopped the video much after that so no I did not finish it up I did not find his content accurate enough for me to continue with it.
