I have one of these, what would be the prefereed way to extend the signal? Do usb dongles work well? The sonoff seems like a good option. There are those smlight poe ones, but im not sure if those are only for home assistant. I just got a smart door knob with camera, will video signal suck if hub is not directly connected for best throughput?

@Dawho99 I honestly have never needed to ever extend any signal in my smart home ever and my home is 2 stories high so unless your specifically having poor signal problems you may not need to invest in doing that. I just use a cheap Huawei wireless router without external antenna boosters and currently have 7 cameras working over the wifi and never had poor video signal problems either, sorry I'm not much help because I dont have alot of experience using signal boosters as never needed to invest in them

What I don't understand is.. what do I do with my original tuya gateway, how do they co-exist together? As the Zemismart M1 hub doesn't support all my existing devices! I guess I need to have both running on the system. I can't find any reference to this anywhere! Thanks.
@SHORTwithTECH3 ай бұрын
@SoundRecordist You can still use your Tuya Gateway. Any devices that are not supported by the M1 (e.g. Bluetooth devices) you can just use through the Tuya Gateway. You can run multiple Gateways and add them seperately through the Tuya app so by using the M1 you are simply just adding another Gateway to your exsisting network, everything else can still function the same as before using the Tuya Gateway. If you have a Matter device, just run it through the M1, the Tuya Gateway will still control everything else if you want it to. Apart from bluetooth devices, the M1 will support everything the Tuya Gateway does and more e.g. Wifi, Thread, Zigbee...

This means M1 works like an extension of the existing Tuya gateway via smart life app. And we can add wireless devices to SmartLife or to the M1 extension inside the app?@@SHORTwithTECH

Does this M1 gateway only accept Zigbee devices, or does it also accept Wi-Fi devices? Thank you
@SHORTwithTECH5 ай бұрын
No its not just Zigbee, it's a Matter supported.gateway so it accepts Zigbee, Thread and WiFi

Is it possible to connect the Hub (battery, Powerbank, etc.)?
@SHORTwithTECH7 ай бұрын
Technically speaking, yes, you could do that but it's not really designed to be used that way

@SHORTwithTECH8 ай бұрын
No unfortunately it cannot because the smart knob used in this video does not support Google or Alexa, thanks for your comment

I have the M1 working with HomeKit however it keeps removing sub-devices. Any advice anyone?

@@tzetv do the sub devices still work even though they appear to be removed?
@tzetv6 ай бұрын
@@SHORTwithTECH they do work and accessible via the Life App. The only way to bring it back to HomeKit is to delete the bridge and re-add it. I have tried to hardwire my Apple TV via Ethernet to see if makes a difference

Beware if you want to use this item. 1. Dont reset 2. Dont update (because same thing of reset) 3. Dont unplug. If you do, all thing you edit in google home, Alexa, apple home kit will gone back factory reset. You cant let it turn, or elase became nightmare

Thank you for your comment. I would recommend contacting Zemismart to see if they can help you with these problems, am unable to simulate this

The Matter scenario is dead. No updates Limited support or no products. It promised integration with "everything" but that is not the reality.

Matter is still growing and developing. Great things get better over time
