Been on TL’s now for four years and no dramas - have them on 4 of my bikes. I will admit that some can be a real faf to install on rim but a trick I found is if you got new tyres unpack/unfold them out and leave them for about 24hrs preferably in a warm-ish room. When it comes to install I use a bit of vaseline on the bead this helps it over the rim shoulder and seat onto rim wall

Took me 10mins once the tubes were removed to go tubeless for the first time with my road bike with the correct tools, no mess, no issues, it all just worked

I am also of the , I don't do tubeless peaple , an I gave you a thumbs up and yes he did good showing us how to do it , but I'll stick to carrying my 2 extra tubes , if I have to go thru 2 spare tubes , then it's time to go home anyway It's the Bicycle version of my friend's car tire repair shop , only it's a bicycle tire

I seat the tire by inflating (then deflating) before removing the valve and adding sealant and re-inflating. Not ready to have sealant in a tire before i know it will seat. I'm also a bit lazy with periodically checking whether there is enough sealant in the tires ...i just shake them and listen for the sealant sloshing around; but still top up with 30ml about every 6 months.

Been using tubeless on MTB, gravel and road for several years so know all the pros and cons. Finally decided to give up on it and go back to tubes because the cons far outweigh the pros now. TPU and latex tubes negate most of the pros without all the mess, faff and increased cost.

note to myself at 8:15 with the air compressor make sure it is seated till around 60 psi. Then remove the air compressor and now sly use standard track pomp and softly pomp again till at least 60 psi. Then you hear another few bangs and now it is all seated equally

Shame that UST didn't catch on, those where very easy to set up and forget. Sealant was optional!. Because of lack of rim choices and price, people went the DIY route with tape and latex goo and we ended up with this half-assed system.

Not all sealants can be injected through the valve due to having fibers or other bits designed to help seal bigger holes.

Checking sealant every couple months? I live in cooler part of world and yearly replace is enough (when the riding season is in the summer when there is no snow, or at least winter is not driven with same tires).

Nice guide guys. One thing I would add is to not over tighten the valve nut. You'll thank me in winter, if you have a puncture and need to put a tube in. P.S A high quality tubeless tape to go with that super clean rim bed is essential to get a proper long term seal. This I know from experience - corroded nipples can be quite eventful!

Great tips, thanks! Felix, our video manager, recently found how hard it can be to remove the valve nut after a road-side puncture left him with no choice other than to put in a tube. It was almost brand new, but it was a cheaper, unbranded, tubeless valve. Thanks for watching!

I have limited experience with tubeless, Vittoria NEXT and Continental GP5000. I have had zero issues with both tires installing and setting up. Used floor pump both times. Wore the NEXT down to the cords. Zero flats, not even a puncture. I don’t see the big deal people make of this. My only complaint, less than 1500 miles from the rear tire. 🤨

I order a UD44 wheel-set from HUNT, took them 4 weeks to send it to Italy, while providing totally misleading information about the tracking (for which Hunt refunded 125euros ). At last when the wheel-set was received, the carbon spoke was damaged (not broken but damaged). It seems like the wheel-set was packed with the damaged spoke from the beginning as the box was okay when it was received, which makes me doubt the quality control process. I have send few emails, but communication is slow. Still waiting for a solution - it has not been a good experience so far......

I often do that. Sometimes it makes no sense but when the tube won't seat too easily, you avoid spraying sealant all over. If you happen to have valves that have non-removable core, you may need to open up a section to get the sealant in. Then you have to get only one side seated and you can still spray a mess if in bad luck.

It's not worth it for the road. Go with TPU tubes, which are incredibly light. Here's the problems with tubeless: sealant spray while riding. God forbid if you have to put a tube in during a ride, you will be covered in sealant. New tires- you're going to spend a bunch of time getting every single, tiny piece of sealant from the bead or it's not going to seal. Garage floor mess.. even Robin said you're going to end up with sealant on your floor. Topping up sealant- it dries out, this is just stupid.

A little sealant? Hey presto it stops - carry on riding! A lot of sealant? Get off, use a dynaplug - carry on riding! New tyres? Rub with a rough cloth - job done! Dry sealant? Last for months, top up in seconds! Garage floor mess? Go next door and do it there! 🙂

This video didn't help the tubeless argument at all. It's still messy, overly complicated for a system that will supposedly assist * if * you get a puncture (i can't remember the last time i did). They are annoying in my MTB, constantly loosing air when not in use & constantly needing new sealant. Latex tubes with good road tyres give similar rolling resistance & ride comfort without the stuffing around of tubeless.

The vast majority of bicyclists have no need of tubeless tires. For most of us it's just another gimmick by bike manufacturers who are always looking for "something new" for a mature product who's last major innovation was the invention of the Safety Bicycle in the 1880's. Hydraulic brakes, electronic shifting, tubeless tires, I already have those things on my auto, why do I want them on my bike? To make my bike harder to repair, more expensive and less reliable?

When I was 8yrs old I already know how to change a tube in my BMX bike without any video guidance. Fast forward 2023, u need more than 10 videos to guide and convince you to use tubeless setup. LMAO!!!Almost every month you'll have a new video to tell you how easy and good is tubeless. Good??? You already know how FAFF it is.

I've used for years and will never like to go back to the time where a tiny piece of sharp gravel or whatever makes me change inner tubes all the time. I avoid tubeless only in winter when it is cold enough for the sealant to freeze after which it will not work of course.
