Thank you so much for the amazingly clear and detailed pattern and video. I just finished this dress for my granddaughter and it’s beautiful. I’m 52 years old and this is the first garment I’ve ever sewn since learning to sew a couple of months ago! I’m so proud of myself right now!

I love this pattern.❤️ brought it yesterday and made a size 6 yrs,today I'm making a size 7,just for the extra room. I did a little trick my mum taught me with the elastic cord and that is to tape the loop together before you insert it in between the fabric pieces as this keeps the loop together, works a treat. Still a newbie after 20 plus years of sewing so watched this video over and over. I nailed it. 😁
@katielove99323 жыл бұрын
Taping the cord can make the needle sticky if it goes through it. The best way to hold the cord together is to take a stitch or two through it to secure it. That way, the needle doesn't get sticky and jam-up.

what a great thing for YT..I am 62, was a textile designer in the 80's... sewed since I'm 15...and how fortunate you can design your own fabric, sell it and have a YT channel to do all that. That didnt exist in the past....

Hello from Pflugerville! :D I can't tell you how much I appreciate this tutorial. I was following a pattern yesterday that did an extremely poor job of explaining the back of the dress slit and cord concept. Your easy, neat dress lining INSPIRED me. Took pic of a similar retail 24mo. dress, while holding a slide rule. Having shortened my dear friend's long sundress to above the knee, she's being surprised with that toddler A-line, with enough outside scrap material left, for her newborn baby granddaughter. Used a Co-ording solid, lining fabric. Thanks :-}

Thanks Christine! Yes, I plan to show some adult garments down the road. Adult clothing is sometimes a bit more complicated because there are many different body shapes, and often the clothing requires a pattern piece, which is why I haven't done many garment videos till now. It's just an added element to the video. I'm glad you make similar dresses too! They are so much fun! :) Dana
