I'm so glad to hear that the knot tutorial is making a difference for you! Knots can be surprisingly tricky, but they’re such a useful skill to have.

I’m in tears I’m so grateful - I rewound that a few times and now I completely get it 🥹 my grandma (rest in peace) used to sew with me she taught me the same knot trick when I was very young, but I forgot how - until now 🙌 🙏 🎉

That's so cool! I was never taught how to sew so I had to search how to lol but this is so cool. I plan on using my backpack as like a traveling passport and this technique will help a lot. AND, I know now that I don't have to stab my backpack with needles lol

If you don't have thread wax, running the needle through your hair can help! It's a technique I learned for sewing on ribbons to pointe shoes. Any natural grease in your hair helps glide the needle and thread through stiffer fabrics.

thank you for your tips! Can you easily take off the patch and put a different one on? What would you use to cut the threads?

Also, a great way to keep your thread from twisting and knitting as easily is to loop the thread, put the loop through the eye of the needle, and then running the thread through that loop. I learned that reading a book about sewing. Your thread might still tangle up some, but not nearly as much.

thank you so much for the super helpful video!! question: would this type of stitch work with a shirt or would it be too flimsy? I'm trying to sew a patch onto a Dickies work shirt and I want to make sure it will be ok in the wash :)

All my patches have super thick glue on them and it takes all I got to push the needle through it. Should I try using a bigger needle? It’s really hard to use the tiny ones and push them through. It seems more natural to use my thumb but there’s no thimble big enough. 😂
@SewAnastasia Жыл бұрын
Hummmm try just catching the edge. You can also get a leather thimble finger thing. They use them in leather making.
