@@CaseyReneeCosplay how much shrinkage could I expect from 3 yards of fabric? I know I need at least 1.5-2 yards left after the smocking

Definitely planning on using technique this for a Dany costume! Thanks for sharing! Any tips on how to calculate the amount of fabric "shrinkage" for this type of smocking (like, how much yardage vs the finished product)?
@CaseyReneeCosplay4 жыл бұрын
I actually discuss how to calculate how much fabric you need and how to actually use this technique to sew into a garment here: t.co/M35nHaPMYU?amp=1

Just saw you on IG and wowowowowowow. The dimension of the silk really adds to the texture. I’m guessing if one were to use this in garment construction, you would construct the lining and then drape/tack/appliqué this to the outside?

I actually have a video on how to make a smocked sleeve that covers this exact topic.

I'd probably go at it with paint to darken the lower areas. More contrast :)

That's an awesome idea, that's what is so fun about these techniques there are so many ways to take the base stitch and turn it into your own thing.

@@CaseyReneeCosplay Yes. I love that they can be altered in so many ways. Haven't come up with an idea on what to use smocking for yet but I'll think of something
