This is how instructional videos should be. Too many instructional videos contain about 3 minutes of actual detail on top of about 27 minutes of needless introduction, narration rambling, and unnecessary filler content. Thank you for getting to the point and not wasting everyone's time.

That was the BEST tutorial I have ever seen for sewing corners. Simple and easy. Every other tutorial I have seen makes it much more complicated and doesn't look nearly as polished. THANK YOU!!

This made my day. No BS or product promotion just the info I need. You rock. That's for your commitment not only to sharing knowledge but to the quality of your presentation. Nice work all around. I am 65 and am learning by sewing bags made from sail cloth and bill boards found after hurricane Irma. Sewing is my therapy after the hurricane and this has helped me a lot. Yesterday I tried to copy a sewn shopping bag that is made like a cushion cover with the top panel missing. Not sure what this is called. It came out as expected BUT the corners were a mess. You helped an old guy and he quest for sewing knowledge. Thank you.

Hi John .. Im so happy to stumble across this instructional video and your comment.. I have also just begun sewing shopping bags from recycled sail cloth and old sunbrella canvas. ( its also my therapy) Can i ask what machine you use? Im struggling with a small domestic and vintage Brother 803 ( probably from circa 1960? .. Brother Australia have no record of this machine so im guessing its possibly made for the US market?)

@@paulcapon1139 sorry for the year delay. Here in US am on lockdown with a Necchi BU and a Singer 201. Each has the power to do what I need. A big plus is that I can maintain them myself. I was using Kenmores before the storm took em. The Kenmores are very un appreciated here in the states. You should be able to pick up any of the above for around $100. Sorry again for the delay. I'll be happy when the pros are sewing facemasks again instead of 68 year old guys.

I was taught this as an apprentice (way back in the last century) and if you make another cut/notch straight across the band, it will serve as a guide to keep top & bottom panels straight & square. (You may have a video that shows this already, I just found your channel today).

I just upholstered a bench seat for a shoe bench I made. Used marine vinyl and this tutorial was essential. Perfect corners the first time. Just one question. What do you do with the corner material? I just folded it over and turned it and it worked out fine, but I had to manipulate it a bit so it wasn't overly pointy or sticking out. Ideas?
