Hi, can I ask if you would recommend this or the aldi nechi nm2000 for an absolute beginner?Both are available to me at the moment and I don't know where to start. Thank you x
@AbisDen Жыл бұрын
I would buy the NM2000, hands down. This is not powerful , doesn’t have throat space (the space you have for your sewing around the needle) or the variety of stitches. This is a basic toy machine which Brother have told me they regard as a disposable machine.

Hi there, you should aim to be in the 3-4-5 section, if you’re working with a medium weight. Ideally you see a good stitch on both the front and back of the work. 😊✨🌸

I am about to purchase this sewing machine and I wonder how easily can you oil this model? Is it the regular way?
@AbisDen4 жыл бұрын
You actually don’t need to oil this machine. I have taught on this model for 4 years and the machines have never had any oil applied to them. They’re fine without. :-) but I would consider looking at other machines like the Janome 219s which is far superior and a great RRP £99 or a Necchi. You’ll be much happier they handle a lot more, offer more stitches and feet. I’m replacing my machines in the new year. Good luck

@@AbisDen thank you so much for your suggestion! Unfortunately, it's a bit hard to find the ones you suggested at the moment as they are out of stock or very expensive to get it from a trird party :( Don't you think this Brother model is decent enough for a begginer? Hmm

Hi, great video. just a little doubt. I can see there is a kind of hole with "+ & -" marks near the stitch dial. Is that to set the stitch length? If then how to do that?
@AbisDen7 жыл бұрын
Gnei Usama that little + - is to balance buttonhole stitching when you zig zag. The top tension thread is controlled by the dial with the numbers above the needle. Is controlled

Can you alter the pressure on the presser foot ?
@AbisDen4 жыл бұрын
Hi James. No 👎🏽this machine isn’t that advanced.
@james97894 жыл бұрын
@@AbisDen thanks Abi do you think the default pressure will be ok for very lightweight Rip stop nylons 35gsm etc. I use an industrial machine mostly ,was thinking of getting this for when I get up early and want to do some work without making any noise in another room etc.
@AbisDen4 жыл бұрын
Ooh, I’m dumping this model as a recommendation- it’s been superseded by machines that can do a lot more for a lot less money. Brother have started to take the Michael charging £200 for this, it was great when I bought them for £55. Look at the necchi from Aldi, or my newer videos. I even prefer the Janome 219-s over this. That is only £99, quieter, smoother and not so much plastic... and you can, I think, alter the presser foot pressure.
@james97894 жыл бұрын
@@AbisDen yes I will need the pressure adjustment the janome sounds like a good one I was also looking at the John Lewis 110 today thanks for the tip off Abi!
