After watching several videos and a fair bit of research, I think I have gathered all the needed information someone needs who is new to sharpening chainsaw chains, such as myself. I am using a Husqvarna 450 Rancher. Obviously, different companies likely have their own guides and what not they suggest, so double check everything.

It works great! Takes 10 minutes. Just used it for the first time today. Went from dust to chunks! Pulled through the wood like a new chain.

Hey man, thanks for the video, wasn't aware of the push only when filing, or what the flat file was even for. Also the tid bit about marking the chain was an easy help! Thanks for sharing

This is a REALLY old video, in fact, I made this one as an off hand just because I had to do it. I have since gotten a tripod and such, but not for this one, obviously. Thanks for watching.

It actually wasn't bad at all. It took about 10 minutes, tops, and it made the saw cut so much better. I always thought it would be a huge, complicated job. I was pleasantly surprised. Much cheaper than buying new chains all the time. Thanks for watching!

I’m a newbie, Thanks for the video (albeit a bit aimless at times!) On the Husquavana site they used a flat file on a part of the chain too after the round file. Any experience in that?

Good information , think about cleaning the bar and make sure no sappy build up on chain. In can cause a build up on the files I just recently found out. I will be looking for more of what you do KC7TRZ

Your file guide is absolutely backward. The depth guage should face toward the file handle.

Those files are not the same sizes one is 7/32 and I can't remember the other one but you can't use both of them on your 450 I believe you need the 7/32
