It’s always fun to be handed a knife and then add live and just figure it out as I go. Work by the seat of my pants and the experience that is in my hands and of course the fantastic sharpening device I use. My Sharpener does the exact same thing all other Sharpeners do. Remove metal from that blade. And I have to say over the years I have developed a tremendous amount of skill, free, handing with my sharpener to create sharp edges. Thank all of you for watching.

That is my table in the background, and you can see my brownish shirt. Got a couple of these from Brad. After learning how to use it CORRECTLY. I picked up a $4 Gerber butter spreader LOL at a 2nd hand store. Sharpened it up and went to use it like I used to my EDC knife. After a small knick on my finger it took about 2 min to get the bleeding to stopped, normally I can get it stopped in a few seconds. THANKS BRAD. 🙂 PS if you learn from Brad and use his product correctly you will get a SHARP knife.

Hey Brad! With the inspiration of your sharpener I constructed my own! Made from piece of dowel a £1 pull through sharpener I striped for the carbide and ceramic and slotted into the dowel with the round wood it gives me a perfect 15 degree angle to sharpen knives and scissors it did take trail and error but I can honestly say now that I can sharpen with my eyes closed! If you’re ever in the uk 🇬🇧 let me know as I’d love to hear your opinion on my sharpener 👍

Got to say I was apprehensive with the other videos. Didn't change the blade profile and didn't take that much of the blade. Going to have to pick one up.

well I bought the key chain and have failed to sharpen anything to cut paper. I am sure it's just me as I struggle to sharpen chainsaw blades

Making you knife sharp makes it weaker? What are you talking about? The apex on an edge is microns thick. A paper cutting edge is under 2 microns and a really sharp edge is 0.5-1 microns. At that thickness toughness doesn't matter but your cutting ability will suffer. And you need to use more force to cut something you actually have more of a chance to damage your edge. If you're talking about edge angle that true. If you have too shallow of an angle toughness will suffer. But that has nothing to do with sharpness. You can do a 5 degree per side angle but if you didn't sharpen it it won't cut anything.

Sharp means thin. Thin means less durable easier to chip.
@D00MTR3310 ай бұрын
@@bradbuckner9496 the way you knives cut paper that edge is probably 2 microns or under. A sharper edge would be 1 micron if under. That small of a difference doesn't make much difference in toughness. Few things will make a 1 micron edge fail but not a 2 micron edge. But a sharper knife cuts better and is still plenty tough. Ive seen razor sharp knives cut open food cans without any damage. I've chopped with a folder reground to 0.005 for over 5 minutes straight and it was just as sharp afterwards.

Not true. If you use 5deg on each side but only go down to where the apex is still 2-000s thick the knife will still slice paper. Because there is no heal on th blade to cause resistance.

he should stick to sharpening cause his knowledge of science and co2 sequestration is lacking. love his product tho

Did he really just say “here’s an interesting FACT” - and then went on to talk about there’s no global warming because of God?? I kind of wanna blame something like this on the education system, but then I’m reminded that you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.

First of all, it was you that said global warming. I didn’t say anything about global warming. You are the unbearable one. And as far as global warming, earth is just coming back up to the temperature it was before the ice age after the global flood of Noah’s days. And that won’t hurt anything. And I might add. People build in stupid places. And they pay for that.
