It looks like the top edge of the crampon front points were sharpened. The tip where the top edge and bottom meet looks fairly rounded... do you want that tip to be sharp or is it okay to leave it rounded. It seems like you would want it fairly sharp...

No, it's not recommended to use any power tools since through heating you affect the steel properties as the steel used in ice tools and crampons is hardened. Heating it with grinder might make it weak or brittle on the inner structure of the steel.
