Never thought about turning the sharpener instead of the pencil! I broke so many leads doing it the "normal" way :o

Thanks for the tips. Deym... Sharpen colored pencils are a pain in the aft. And i got almost lost my yellow pencil of sharpen it to hard and the tip breaks a lot. It's kinda annoyed a lot. But with the help of the tutorial on how to sharpen colored pencils in a right way, i found a solution. The sharpener is the way of twisting, not the pencil. Now i know this a lot. Thanks for the tip, boy. Love this. (P.S. i use Deli Color Emotion Pencils as my colored pencil arts. I love this brand. Faber-Castell are the underdogs for sharpen colored pencils without breaking a lead.)

Very useful video. I been doing the first way where you twist the pencil itself. I am going to try twisting the sharpener itself. I use regular Crayola coloring pencils.
@FarrellArtist6 жыл бұрын
It definitely helps with the breakage! I’m not sure about crayola pencils but prismacolors are very brittle

@@FarrellArtist I guess you didn't like the Prismacolor sharpener? Alot people say to use that with the pencils. Enjoying your videos.

Do you think using an electric sharpener will be even better? Not an electric with a regular blade but with a big rotating thing i don't know how its called sorry i think it may have the same blade as your mechanical sharpener

I think it will work well too, give it a try and let me know!

The best way not to break the leads and split the wood casings on prismacolors, is to buy Faber Castell polychromos instead. Other than that, there is nothing else that can be done about it.

Haha im 2 years late but are we not gonna talk about how the prismacolors in the US are just that bit cheaper than the UK. And I ain't happy.

Hey!!! thanks for checking out my channel! I haven't actually had to change the blades yet but i'm pretty sure there was instructions that came with it on how to do it. I honestly don't know how I went so long without a desktop sharpener. it's so much better!

The reasons a tip break are: The pencil is of poor quality. The sharpener has dulled blades out of much usage.The pencil has a very soft core. It can be any of these reasons or all of them. KUM makes the best sharpeners and Faber Castell the best pencils. Use those,and you will reduce the chances of breakage,literally to 0%.
@greekveteran2715 Жыл бұрын
KUM Masterpiece - KUM longpoint Automatic and m+r 602 , are the 3 must have sharpeners,for an artist. You can avoid KUM masterpiece,if you are a beginner. If not ,its not similar to the automatic longpoint as it might seem.That's why I mentioned both. Most versatile and highest quality and performance sharpeners,on the market today.
