Thank you for the helpful information. I really wanted to buy one of your trikes, but I needed a 7 speed and unfortunately, couldn’t afford a Six Three Zero trike. Originally, I had a clanking when I rode my trike, but have fixed that. Now I’m having a heck of a time shifting the gears. My husband had the shifter in sixth gear and when I rode it got it to seventh and managed back to sixth, but can’t get it lower. I’ve tried and I have some tendinitis in my thumb and I also tried with 2 hands. What can I do? I don’t live near a bike shop. It’s a Shimano handgrip shifter.

Hi Debbie, we're sorry to hear about your difficulty with your shifter. Have you tried putting some cable oil on it and see if it makes a difference?

Yes, it is totally normal. Riding tricycles take some getting used, we actually have a some videos explaining how to ride a tricycle.

Yeah hi I have a question I just put this bike together by myself it’s a tricycle just like yours and I think it’s together correctly and the gear at the handle won’t go any lower than five and it won’t switch unless I do it manually by hand pushing in the gear shifter at the bottom could you please help me thank you

Hi, I just got a 7 gear trike (Husband is putting it together now), I am 62 years old and never really rode a bike much when I was a kid. My question is going up and down hills. We have nice paved recreational trails near our house for walking, running and biking. It is pretty flat for the most part but there are a couple of good sized hills. I understand using gear 1 while going up a hill, but how do you handle going down a steep hill. I don't want to go really fast and feel out of control. Do you use a higher gear to slow down or just rely on the brakes? Thanks. Love all your tips and videos. Thanks

I always ride my trike on the lowest gear setting. I am semi paralyzed on one side of my body. When I get to an incline, I hop off and walk the trike. I can't pedal on the higher gears just yet.

Most of the time, we'd like to slow down prior to braking, but if we can't do that, we need to make sure that we have the correct position and we are ready for it. We find this article helpful for in this case - www.bicycling.com/rides/a20035875/stop-how-to-use-your-brakes-the-right-way/.
