Just got my shiny Fuecoco at egg 397. It was my very first shiny hatch I've ever had in any pokemon game it made me really happy to finally hatch one. While hatching the rest of the eggs, 12 eggs later i hatched another shiny Fuecoco!

Make sure you on a completely empty box when you start breeding. Nothing more annoying then having all your eggs mixed in with your pokemon when its time to hatch. Also its a lot easier when it is a box with nothing but eggs, because you can use the minus button to select an entire vertical column and move it to your party all at once, rather then doing it one by one like in the video.

honestly you can also get a foreign ditto by making another playthrough in another language if you have 2 switches (I have regular and OLED) It's pretty fast - i spent longer just waiting on a foreign ditto in SWSH than quick playing through to the ditto location. I'm going for Sprigatito right now! Excellent video!

I have 2 switches as well with multiple languages so thats also a very good plan to get one lol. It's crazy because getting a ditto via the 4448-4448 code is like shiny hunting in and of itself for some people but its usually quick for me xD The compliment also means a lot. Thanks!

@craigalexander5286 also having a shiny pokemon breed does not increase the chance of breeding a shiny sadly. However, if you give a 6iv ditto a destiny knot, 5 of the 6 IVs are guaranteed to pass down.

Btw, just throwing this out there: I always go to the very first town you come across in the game (Los Platos) and buy an Egg Power 1 ice cream for 900 money at the ice cream stand near the Pokémon Center. But since this video explained- and showed where to simply buy something that gives you Egg Power 2 rather than make it yourself, I decided to try it out. It appears to NOT be worth it. The ice cream is 900 bucks. The sandwich is 2800. From the ice cream I got 57 eggs. From the sandwich I got 62. Barely any difference for that much more money. I suggest going for the ice cream or perhaps making your own sandwiches if that's cheaper; I haven't really tried my hand at making my own food much lol.

The way I understand it once you get the egg from the basket it already has the data if if it’s going to be shiny or not, so you’d just be hatching the same exact eggs. The way you can do it though is save before setting up the picnic, get the box full of eggs, hatch them then restart if there’s no shiny this way you’ll be getting new eggs when you set up the picnic

I never got a reply but I noticed other KZbinrs doing this method and they were not using two regions separate from their own. They appeared to use one Pokémon from their own game and another from a different region. Hopefully this helps.

You dont need a ditto but you just need 2 pokemon that are from different regions that speak different languages. Ditto is just common since it can breed with anything. You can have 1 from your region and 1 from a different one. :)

Just need a foreign pokemon + ur native one, if u have english save u just need spanish/chinese/kor/jap pokemon they dont need to be jap + spanish for instance

Just watched this guide for the first time, I wish I found it when it first came out! Thank you so much! I usually shiny hunt by just herba mystica sandwiches and I'm going to try the masuda method for the first time today since the pokemon I want can't be found in Paldea! Great video! I recommend going to Alfornada and getting the second dish from the fancy restaurant. It's easy to make camp outside of the city and the main strip is ideal for running back and forth to hatch eggs!

Thank you so much for this guide! I'm actively using the Masuda Method to try and get a shiny fidough to evolve into dachsbun and name after my first ever best friend, a dachshund named Ralph (who looked a lot like dachsbun in his prime mind you, longhaired, with light brown fur, darker brown on his back and ears, and lighter still on his chest and belly). The ditto trading method is super helpful and it's good to know the chance without even a shiny charm is still more than 1 in 1000 as long as you have a foreign ditto! Here's to hoping I get success! Also, a tip for everyone--you can look up egg recipes and make them yourself even before you unlock the recipe in game by making a custom sandwich during a picnic, and you'll unlock the recipe afterward. I did this with the ultra sweet sandwich which has level 2 egg power, but I think you need 5 badges to get some of the ingredients. The sweet sandwich can be easily made from the start of the game and only requires strawberries and jam I believe, it's one of the first recipes you also get.

Ralph is still alive though his health is on a decline as he is nearly 20 years old and has had a very very long life and I can't imagine life without having had him in mine. It is wonderful meeting fellow dachshund lovers, and dachsbun will always be a special Pokemon to me and other people for what it represents. I think it's really nice that there's a lot of dog and cat Pokemon that people can catch shinies of in honor of their pets :)
