10:22 Such a fast and smooth entry. Great drills, I love the "knee walk" drill (no toes, laces towards the mat), I've used that a lot myself. Although toes on the mat can be good too, grapplers need to be "fluent" in all methods of moving; knees, toes, shins + top of the feet, etc. I also like the "shape" of shooting with the trail leg off the mat (like a tail), I've never seen that before. I think that forces kids to extend their hip and get an upright posture. It also forces them to balance on the knee of their lead leg, which needs to be strong and stable to withstand a sprawl. I'm always looking for new drills to get kids comfortable with different shapes and methods of movement.

Hi trainer! Your videos is awesome! Thanks for that. I have a question. You are lefthanded or righthanded. Becouse you have a left leg forward stands. Thank you. Artem. Moscow.

Yankov! I appreciate the kind words. I am right handed but wrestle with a lefty lead.

@@CreightonWrestling ty for answer. Becouse my son training bjj now. And i want to train mma. He righthanded too. Maybe we better training with left leg lead too from begin? Sorry for my eng) or better training with both sides?
@CreightonWrestling3 жыл бұрын
Middle school age and younger I would have them do left and right drills. The more body mechanics they can get used to... the better. But I do agree that left handed wrestling is better.

Does shooting the hands help with a guy trying to counter your doubles with quick underhook throw by?
