I had started for a few YT food videos and I found lighting is very important. Shooting is also kind of awkward thing if you have roommates using the same area for cooking. Taking video clips or shooting will be more convenient as early as 2AM I supposed whenever off from work. Editing follows easy when you have all the shoots you need. I usually pick cheap and used utensils from the value village. I think I really need to invest for affordable lights and props that is at par with those equipment used by the pro. Thanks for your DIY ideas.
@seanaslam3 жыл бұрын
That was exactly the point that I was trying to make. Hope you make great content !! If you have a choice of camera vs light. Definitely invest in lights first then camera.
@james-broderick5 ай бұрын
I have setup #3, too. Exactly the same. And it's so cumbersome, bulky, and hard to set-up in a pinch. Especially because I live in a 550 square foot cottage in the hills. But I took my profile picture with that exact gear and a couple cheap bar LEDs for a hairlight and accent light to complete the three-point lighting setup most KZbinrs talk about.
@olliemoee2 жыл бұрын
This would’ve been a better comparison if you used the exact same background set up for each lighting option. Because the different backgrounds (wood color, cutting board, tile etc) also affects the lighting.
@sabirah10803 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. B4 you said it I was thinking sstup 1 with the additional $50 for the board. I like setup 1 bcuz it works in a small or large space. Setup 3 requires a certain amount of space. Now trying to start my food channel journey. BEST VIDEO OUT THERE *****

I cook in a small kitchen with no island, so i need to use my real counter top and stove. also I dont really like the angle is tasty videos. it feels impersonal to me. however, i may look into the light for set up 3. i don't want to buy a new camera yet, but i am willing to take my videos to the next level.

Hey Sean, The Arm stand in setup 2, do you use that for your sony camera or does it not support the weight of the camera/ lense?
@seanaslam4 жыл бұрын
Hey, the arm can only be used with a smart phone. I use it with my iPhone 12 pro Max now. Anything heavier like Sony or canon camera you will need to invest in a tripod with extended arm and use counter weights to balance that.

Great Video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with us! The result isn't surprising at all. When it comes to lighting it as simple as that: you get what you pay for... No shortcuts possible. The "Quality of Light & Shadows" of the Godox 150 Watt is so much better than the others. So I think in the end the result is: Go and spent a good amount of money to protect yourself from disappointment. Thumbs up, man.
