I guess you'd have to go a day or 2 before to get your exposure settings correct because once the moon starts rising you don't have much time to check individual frames to make sure your histogram is on point

No I just went out that afternoon. The Moon is much brighter than any other part of the photo. This Time-lapse was taken on the 8th of May 2020. I used Photopills to see what time the Moon rose "6:04pm" and I started the time lapse at 5:59pm, and the setting were not adjusted during the Time-lapse. I am planning on taking a new Time-lapse at this location soon using my Nikon Z6II which has the ability to shoot time-lapses in Aperture Priority which means I can start the time-lapse much earlier and go from day to night which should look so much better.
