What do you think of the final quality? Is it good enough considering how much time and effort you would have saved from this technique?

I just discovered how to shoot time-lapses recently. And your video is an inspiration. Going to try out this evening near MBS.

@@alangadgets Subd. Went to MBS as planned and shot a few time-lapses. The day to night transition did not come out well, somehow the focus was off for the night shot although I set it to Manual. Anyways here's the result - kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4uol32Ves6phrs

@@sivakumarvadival after setting to MF, make sure it is focused to infinity, the easiest way is to turn off and on the camera as it will focus to infinity by default. Great attempts

Nice lapses, well explained process. I'm still on the fence somewhere between using Program priority and Aperture priority. There is no exposure smoothing on my old Nikon d5200, and I always get some flicker with my lenses. I use Davinci Resolve to de-flicker the footage and it makes a big difference. With my Z7, it's easier, but for city shoots where there is plenty of residual light at night, Aperture priority can work quite well also. ISO never needs to be that high at night-time in the city. For day to night astrophotography, I use aperture priority until close to dark, and switch to manual settings. This is why it's good to have snapbridge, to be able to adjust the settings without touching the camera.

Can it be done using my Z50? i use to shoot timelapses during my DSLR days I have to take pictures individually using intervalometer and import them all to a program called LR-timelapse to do a holygrail timelapse.
@alangadgets Жыл бұрын
Then you are a better photographer than me cos I'm too lazy for that! Haha.. anyway, Z50 and Z6 should share a similar algorithm so I don't see why it shouldn't perform similarly. And it's almost no effort in trying it out if you leave it on a balcony or by the window. Please dub if you enjoyed 🙏🏻😁

Hi, I have a Z5 and the timelapse Mode is unavailable in P-Mode for some reason. I know that it is possible and I've done already in the past with your tutorial, but I keep forgetting which setting I have to switch to make it available again.

Time lapse movie is only available in Photo mode and not video mode. Hope that helps. Please subscribe if you haven't already 😊

@@alangadgets I have another question,,, does shooting timelapse have issues like shutter ware or increase camera shutter count.
@alangadgets Жыл бұрын
@@diamondhightech254 I used silent (electronic) shutter for time lapse, so it won't count unless you are using mechanical shutter

in P mode holy grail in daylight al good but when it gets darker everything went overexposed and also unwanted speed change in de footage so the timelaps is ruined
@alangadgets7 ай бұрын
2:45 did you set the minimum shutter speed to be lower than your interval? You may also try setting a lower ISO ceiling. I can't say for sure what really happened but no speed change ruined any of my shots yet

@@alangadgets hi Alan in P mode you have no control at the shutterspeed if i correct also everything gets over exposed when it is getting dark. @@voederbietels for Nikon you can set the lowest shutter speed it's allowed to go so that it won't go lower than the interval, not sure about other camera. Sorry that it did work for you 🙏🏻

@@voederbietels the minimum shutter speed is set at the ISO setting after you turned on the auto ISO as shown at 2:45, regardless of interval priority setting
