Love the bins! Besides the stuff you talked about, one thing that I would like to advise is that things get broken in the bins. Always watch for pieces of glass from picture frames, mirrors, and other items, especially the thin glass items. Also watch for blades from food processors and knife sets. I rarely have anything specific that I am searching for, but I do make it a point to grab all the name brand hotwheels, matchbox, and johnny lightning cars. Lastly, I managed to have a $3k sapphire and diamond ring slip off my hand in a bin in Spokane, Washington. I never found it, so wearing gloves is a must! Grab a bag, or some sort of a lightweight container, to put your small finds in so they don't fall out of your shopping cart.

I’ve been to the bins once so far. I had fun and just went to places where there was no one else. I sell both clothes and hard goods. I found 21 things and it ended up costing about 99 cents an item. Hard goods were hard to find like glass, fo example, because they were all damaged in some way. I happened to get a glimpse into them pouring via some kind of dumping machinery into a in and the hard good have a large crashing drop from the source to the bin below so no wonder everything glass-related is broken.

I don't resell all the time but I do go to the local goodwill bins a couple of times a year for the fun of it. Yes, I love the fun of the dig as gross as it can be. It engages my ADHD brain perfectly. Probably 10 years ago I found a red hoodie. I love hoodies, gave it a once over and it looked pretty good so I grabbed it, When I got it home it was an authentic Liverpool football (soccer) hoodie that was apparently close to new. I wear it several times a week to this day during our mild Texas winters to this day! Just wanted to share.

I hear you Texas Gal Treasures, the one thing I really dislike is being short, because when you are short, you can't reach the back of the bins. I don't have an actual bins store close by, but there's a local thrift that puts about 50 gaylords of clothes out for a weekend, a few times a year. That's how I started clothes. It's so overwhelming, the first time I just picked the most obnoxious clothes I came across. LOLOL But they always sold. Since then my picking has improved to brand, styles, and awesome vintage finds there. But I will always pick up the loud stuff. Guaranteed somebody somewhere will have to have it.

A tip I learned from the bins near me. Don't look in a bin someone else is looking through. Is that the way it is at all bins? I recently went to the bins for the first time. There was a couple who were grabbing pants. I had a pair of pants in my hand, he took them away from me said this was his bin and for me to move along. He had two buggies full of nothing but pants. I thought geeze really. Then a woman (not a worker) came up to me and said. One person per bin. Lots of people were just standing against the wall watching. Strange and weird.

Car boot sales in car parks and farmers fields, so one can haggle with the sellers.People put free stuff on their door steps or by their recycling bins and sometimes I find useful things chucked in skips ( skip diving) but most are filled with building rubble these days, there is an online site for free stuff like furniture to upcycle called Gumtree but you have to travel to collect it with a van, I only have a bicycle 😄🙏🏼🌈🌻🌞

I call the goodwill bins, pay by the pound, THE HUNGER GAMES !🤣 There's this group, maybe a family of resellers that literally conquer and divide. As soon as bins come out (they bring in new bins every 20 to 30 minutes or so) the bins get lined up..... and the cashier is YELLING at the ppl not to go into them. So everyone must wait behind lines taped on the floor. Eyeing each bin as they get rolled in.....& Then, the cashier yells "GO!" and watch out! You'll get TRAMPLED by these ppl (family) who will literally go to EACH bin, take most of what's inside & they will sort thru their stuff after they take it all. They usually have about 10 carts lined up, full to the brim with merch, by the wall..... It's ridiculous.....i just wait patiently and look thru the "older" bins that are not being attacked. Lol I mean.... it's genius that "they" are enough ppl to each get an entire bin to look thru...... get ALL the good stuff then discard what they don't want. There's so much glass and fragile things that get broken in this maddening process, it's sad. So yeah.....i call it the Hunger Games cause you're literally fighting for a chance to get anything. It's in St. Petersburg Florida btw.

Hey, first time watching your video, I’ve been curious about binning, your advice is very helpful! What I am curious about is, how do you know which goodwill / thrift store does the bins? Sorry to say but a gathering on the Cape 500 people got it…..400 people vaccinated (most in the vulnerable groups) ….but 80 vaccinated people over the last two weeks died from it in MA. Texas and Round Rock does not talk about it like up north.
