Hi Dr. Donna, excellent info, thank you! I have a rescue dog with lipomas and I have been feeding raw for years with no grain or flour added, but I imagine she ate kibble for years before us. Wondering if organic, full fat plain yogurt is phlegm forming or beneficial in the diet? Thank you

Omega 3 is most important. The meat now a days has high omega 6, especially chicken, turkey. Grass fed beef has less, but unfortunately cost a small fortune. Adding omega 3 to help balance it out will help.

My 9 yr old pit was diagnosed with a tumor in his stomach im waiting to get the results of what kind. I think we was giving him the wrong food so I am in the process of switching him to raw . I would love to know what to give him to shrink it? Its visible and the vet says surgery would cause more harm and told us to put him down. He isn't showing signs of pain and is still active so I didn't go with her plan and I want to save him ... any idea are definitely appreciated! God bless u for helping people with dogs who are dealing with these

Along with a nutritionally complete raw food diet; I’d add medicinal mushrooms; golden paste and herbs known to kill cancer that are as safe for dogs.

I would have to argue and say that lipomas can require emergency surgery. My dog had one on her groin and was growing very rapidly and ended up pinching a nerve and cut the blood supply to the back left leg. She couldn't walk or climb. After surgery, she returned to normal. So unless your dog is not in pain like my dog was, I guess you can use a holistic approach

Don't take lipomas lightly. It's not all dietary issues, it can be very serious. My standard poodle had lipomas. The first one appeared when he was about one year old, it was surgically removed. But then the other one appeared on the other side of his body. The vets weren't recommending another surgery, and since it didn't bother the dog and didn't grow bigger, and the aspiration didn't reveal any cancer cells, so we didn't remove it. Until several years later we found the dog had leukemia. It turns out lipomas are one of the early signs of leukemia. The other thing to look for is the swelling of the gums. Leukemia causes weak immune response and all sorts of issues. We didn't know that, the vets don't know that either so it goes untreated until it's too late.

Which is absolutely tied to doet and toxins building up 😂
@ElementaryWatson-123 Жыл бұрын
@@AG-nn8lp thats what uninformed people would say, while in fact it's primarily genetic. But the post wasn't about that. Leukemia is treatable if started early, don't ignore the signs.
@wintyforever11 ай бұрын
The thing is lipomas do contain cancer cells in them, lipomas are not just because of excess fat. Lipomas also form when there is a high accumulation of toxins, including cancer cells, that the liver can’t process and eliminate so it stores it in that bubble of fat on the skin, away from any internal organs but usually they stay contained inside the fat and don’t spread. If you puncture the lipomas to get a biopsy to see if it’s malignant or not, you can let loose those cancer cells or toxins loose into the bloodstream through which they can attack the whole body and organs. It’s a risky process IMO and vets don’t tell you that. That’s why I’d rather leave it alone and try to get them dissolved through the body naturally.. I’m so sorry for your loss. Pure breeds tend to get cancer easier too. Unfortunately their health is not considered when breeders create these breeds.
@ElementaryWatson-12311 ай бұрын
@@wintyforever I never said lipomas are cancerous, once you tested it's actually a lipoma and not a malignant tumor. You have to test, because if you are wrong you lost valuable time when you could still save your dog. I also said there is a reason lipomas appear, and one of the likely reasons is a compromised immune system, for example leukemia. It can be treatable, but you better find that out before it's too late. All those people talking about "holistic" treatments are just selling you a snake oil.

The issue here is I can't give you specific medical advice about your pet. Each case is individual. But I am shining a light on some of the root causes

Acupuncture :)
@DrDonnaNaturopathicVet2 жыл бұрын
Hello. Carbohydrates often (not always) are broken down into excess sugars by animals that are not very active and then the body can create phlegm and heat (inflammation) and blockages. The grain free is often not much better than grains in this way. Acupuncture and herbs also help I think I might describe those in the description.

I've brought liver/chicken livers, cut up chicken breast he likes cooked string beans and loves raw carrots. How about sweet potatoes too many carbs??
