The reason I value Ken above all other great vocal teachers is because he bridges the generations and takes you through the music, exposing us vocal enthusiasts to the legacy of great singers and helping us see them from a completely different perspective. And I love that Ken left a suggestion in his lesson instructions that you can record your lessons on a cassette recorder. The moment I read about the Boom Box, my mind nearly exploded. I'm sure he knows it's mind blowing and that's why he kept it and will continue to keep it for the next 50 years!

🎤🔥 Another fantastic video, Ken! Your lessons are always so inspiring and helpful. 🙌 Thanks for continuously sharing your wisdom and helping us improve our vocal skills. Quick question: Does falsetto mean singing like the Bee Gees? 🤔 And when is the best time to "wake up" the falsetto in practice? Thanks again for all you do! 🙏 Sri Krishna Chaitanya Swami 🎶

Thanks for the lesson Ken. I'd like you to go in the opposite direction and get deeper into the low-register voice teaching sometime. I'm very interested. Best regards ;-)

Ken you always find the perfect way to connect vocal techniques with real-life examples. Singing is more than just hitting the notes-it's about understanding and feeling them! 🎶🙌

You know, Ken, I have been watching your videos all these years, and I always come out a winner. Now the truth is I never considered myself a singer, but since recently, I have been singing a lot during my cycling rides, and I have found it very therapeutic; I still sing like crap, but maybe if I get into your course, this will change. Thanks again

Thank you Ken 🩵 I have a short story when I was trying to sing the song Man in the box and my head wouldn't let me go to the note that is in the chorus (B4) with my chest. And then I was singing Futureproof (by Nothing But Thieves), which I have no problem with, and I realized that I was singing B4 before. Almost nothing. Well, okay, let's try Man in the box again and… YES! I can do that! 😅 Now I'm stuck with chest voice on C5. I am looking for ways to open more spaces for resonance. And quick question - when I am using abdominal support, I feel that my neck is connected. Suddenly the whole neck stiffens, the muscles. I don't know how to disconnect my abs from my neck. Any ideas? Nothing hurt, just I feel the connection. And my neck, throat is supposed to be relaxed, right? 🤷♀️

Hi Ken, would you be able to make a video more specifically about how to achieve really low notes/ bass notes? I realize this isn't the most commonly asked question, but I'm sure many out there would like to be able to work on it and do it correctly. I assume the steps to achieving this could vary quite a lot depending on the persons vocal type etc. I'm considered as a bass baritone, my voice is very similar to someone like Josh Turner who sang 'Your Man.' I listen to a lot of gospel quartets and also country music, and would like to be able to improve on getting even lower than what I can already achieve, I'm able to hit a number of notes in the first octave somewhat frequently, but would like to be able to improve on the consistency of being able to hit these notes and go lower if possible. If one was to practice a lot for increasing their range with higher or lower notes, does this or can this limit the persons range on the opposite side - eg, practicing high notes a lot, then potentially losing some range in the lower end? Thanks in advance! :) Love your content.

I noticed this! Sometimes, I daydream while I perform vocal exercises. I noticed that if I'm daydreaming, I breeze through difficult exercises, whereas if I am focused there's no breeze 😄

Really helpful thank you, I've not been singing long but I tend to struggle around E4-F4 in my chest voice and find it very limiting really hope this helps push past that barrier

I go high notes by feel. If I don't feel relax and even last night bad sleep it is very hard or fail singing high. It is like relaxing muscles which produce chest voice and then use high voice muscles😂. I imitate often Gentle Giant Derek Shulman's falsetto, it is beautiful.

Thanks for the advice/demo Ken! Can relate to being pigeon-holed as a natural baritone + went to college on a partial soccer scholarship (repetition & technique),is key. Falsetto is a difficult place, but message received👌. From shower/automobile to karoke King 😆

Ken is the most brilliant coach in the music industry. Man, I wish I would have learned from him many years ago. But hey it's never too Late, to learn to sing Great! Highly Recommend His Course's!!!

I’m not a singer but I love to sing. I’ve taken it upon myself to learn to sing and I couldn’t be happier I found your videos. “Visualise the note”. That’s something I’ve struggled with, “giving myself permission” to learn to sing, to hit the high notes, to carry a low note. To try and learn something new, to develop something new within myself. Your videos have been so warm, kind and your love for singing and music, so much much so that you’re sharing it on this platform with the world. Thank you. Thank you for giving us the tools and kindness and grace, to give ourselves permission to be the singers we want to be. I can’t wait to see what I can do (with practice and patience of course 😂) thanks to you.

There are so many songs I could sing if I could only hit the higher notes. Sadly I stay away from them for that reason. When I’m alone sometimes I will sing my favorite Journey song but inevitably those high notes always are too far too reach. Sucks lol
