Im half samoan and half danish. I was borned and raised in Denmark, I feel like im loosing the samoan part, i mean im proud to be half Dane but the samoan side is the strongest. But i can't speak the language, so i will learn Siva Tau with honor and to get more connected to my ancestors. Peace

Aye uce, that blood is Golden. Wherever you go, no matter where you are in the world, if Samoans meet, it’s automatic love. No matter what other blood you have in you, that Samoan blood binds is together.

I am also Half Samoan and Half African and I have the same problem as you. I’m losing out on my Samoan side, I want to honor both in whatever I do in life so I will learn the Siva Tau and force my dad to teach me Samoan🤣

This KZbin has taught my 19 boys how to do the Siva Tau in preparation for their May Day Ho'ike Performance honoring the MANU SAMOA Rugby Team. They are really appreciative and formed a bond with their instructor, whom they call, Mr. Veto. Fa'afetai Tele Lava for these tutorials that help instill our culture for everyone to represent... Le MANU!!!

The only rugby team in the Pacific that does not have a war dance are the Papua new guinea Rugby team. We have a totally diverse culture from the highlands to the islands and that's why it's difficult to actually perform a war dance based on one type of culture. But I guarantee you, there are some war dances we have that will instill fear from the get go. It's just terror to watch and experience. However, our ancestors when going into a battle never showed up on the battle field singing and dancing because that would automatically alert the opponent to strike first. They came in at stilt mode, silent, illusive and gruesome...So happy to be a pacifican, seeing war dances done by our other Pacific nations shows the pacifican identity, dignity and culture we all originated from.

When I came to Samoa, the immigration officer looked at my Samoan passport and looked at me (white English) and said "this is a good passport!" I said "Manu Samoa!" One day I'll go back and stay. Fa Samoa!

Manu Samoa was a warrior from Sapunaoa Falealili. Manu Samoa Isamaeli is named after the warrior, but was not by any means linked by family or by blood to Manu Samoa at all. This needs to be updated in the dialogue for the clip above.

who is the warrior manu samoa isamaeli?
@SamoanT100010 жыл бұрын
"Isamaeli" is not even a true Samoan name; it's actually a biblical name of Semetic/Hebrew origin. Manu Samoa had been dead for generations before the name Ishmael (Isamaeli) made its way to he islands through Western missionaries. So, you see, this is false history.

I’m Samoan and I don’t see it as disrespectful, doing it because you like it and you find it fascinating is acknowledging the culture bro, unless you tryna make a mockery of it or do it as a joke then that ain’t right, this goes for all people whether they’re white or black, Asian..
