Nice one mate for the info! I must admit I have done very little jig fishing more soft plastics but most of the lure shore fishing I've done is from shallow areas locally! I've bought some very nice jigs "Little Jack" copies from Ali Express which I plan on trying out next summer on some deep water rock marks around North Wales 😉🎣👍

You can't go wrong with Ali jigs! It definitely takes the Sting out attack a loss 🤣 thanks Damian, see you on the beach 😁👌

Thanks Billy , good info 👍. Question: would you seen any benefit of painting the hook shanks with iv paint to add attraction or is the lure enough ?
@Billyfishing_watch3 ай бұрын
Sure you can do that! But I don't believe it will be worth the effort. You're always one cast away from losing it. So I tried to make it as cheap and effective as possible with as little effort. Thanks Brother 😁👌

Interesting video Billy making those jigs must be more rewarding catching fish aswell as more cost effective man I hate wasting money on lures then snagging them after a few throws I use the savage gear seekers sure they catch bass but I always lose them I think I'll take a leaf out of your book and try those twin assists thanks buddy
@Billyfishing_watch3 ай бұрын
One day I lost three lures, and that set me back €100 It's just to expensive for me! This year I made over a hundred jigs, and with the assist hooks. It would come in at well over 1,000 Euros. I believe it or not I have worked my way through most of them! I don't think you can go wrong brother 😁👌

So Billy the weight of a jig is the decisive factor to balance the cast distance and the drop time, right? Wouldn't that mean (in general) that one would prefer slower sinking time over the cast length?
@Billyfishing_watch2 ай бұрын
No! It is more complicated than that. Some fish before a different action on a jig. Some water demands that you fish a jig with a different action. Also the depth of water needs to be added to the equation. So we have two options, a slow jig or a fast . So unless you know the area where you are fishing, and where the fish are lying. Casting distance should always be the main priority. The Mark round you cover. the more chances you get. As a rough guide for weight, in 15 to 30 m of water. A 60g is optimal. The speed of the water and the type of fish you are targeting, will dictate what lure you use! I hope you find this helpful 👌

Almost all yer videos have been Norway. Do you have digs close by where u live and do u want some company for one of ur fishing videos at the beginning of next year. Myself and my pal plan on coming over from Scotland. Wouldn’t mind upping my game from catching toddlers in loch long to catching beast in Norway and having your company at the same time if that would be something u would be interested in. We’re going to Norway no matter what but it would be class to meet up with u and fish along beside you 🎣
