Lino, you’ve outdone yourself with this video. I personally think it’s your best tutorial yet! Detailed, do’s and don’ts, and little bits of advice, lol the hallmarks of a great tutorial. I personally liked the big block lettering as to send a message home. I myself have started my foray into the transitions. It’s been a shaky start but my skate crew have been very supportive and with your tutorial, I think I’ll be getting up and down those ramps / transitions in no time. Funny thing, I learned the whole chin (or as I like to say, head) thing the hard way. The crew here rented out an awesome indoor park, which is built for bmx, and we skated there. There are a number of pump tracks there and they convinced to me to roll it. Let’s just say I comically ended up with my legs in the air and butt on the floor.

I'm having massive trouble with pumping a miniramp/halfpipe - falling on my knees all the time. What you say about remaining perpendicular to the angle of the slope is a total revelation and makes perfect, perfect sense. It all slots into place - in theory at least! THANK YOU! - OBRIGADO!

Great vid! My wife got me Trimax frames for christmas, and I can't be more stoked. They're so much fun! If your USD VII-Trimax is a stealth fighter, my version with the 2016 K2 Unnatural boot is ninja :p One thing I'd love to learn to do better, and I know half-pipe skills are a good building block for it, is bowl skating. There's a really nice outdoor concrete park in Sacramento, California called Granite Skate Park, and it has a lot of deep bowl features. Can't wait to fall on my butt trying to carve them in my triskate setup! Good thing the Mrs. got me some new pads, too!

some bouncy action in this one...:) Been trying halfpipe for the first time last saturday (just a bit). It's the only one in town, made of sheet metal and massively steep. Hit my hip a little and the side of the knee even less (right outside the padding of the protector. Skated back home with no issues, but the next day... Well I'm now able to bend that knee freely after two days. Protection can't substitute attention!

Just revisited this video. I'm now pumping fine, but dropping in fakie (backwards) is giving me problems. It's been a good reminder of the importance of staying perpendicular to the pipe. Now I just need to find the balls to drop in backwards, sitting into the drop off the coping.

Hi Ricardo, great video! I remember when I was working my way to learn and always was losing speed because I had no idea how to pump correctly. I would like you to add a section about how to fall correctly when on ramps - even with this nice tutorial, I know that many will make tiny mistakes and will end in their knees...

I'm having a hard time learning to pump properly. Like I get the idea and I feel like I'm doing it, I can feel a little speed boost when I do it, but it's not right because I am losing momentum and end up having to skate on the flat. I noticed you do a little pump right before the transition. Like a little push on the flat. Is that what you are doing? I get pumping going down but can you please explain pumping going up?

Oh for sure, keep making videos for every level of skating from pro to beginner on all kind of different environments. The stuff I can't do still is super interesting and inspiring to work towards to! For me going backwards is super scary still, I have no control yet. I'm looking for a nice open spot near my area to practice when the weather finally decides to stop raining. Bought a set of practice cones already :D

Lino it's spencer from England. , first off merry Christmas and hope 2018 is going to be a good one! I got a pair of Chaya karma skates with the grind blocks for Christmas! My question is. Why are the blocks sloped towards the outside of the boots and the flat face of the block on the inside.? I want to learn to grind along a steel pole or the edge of a ramp. Any help or tips with this would be brilliant. Thanks buddy.
